You Motherfucking Father-Raping White Trash Fuckers In Hayward

I’m so sorry you have to live in that hell hole, inky.

My S.O. went to Cal State Hayward (before the shameful name change). He didn’t live there though, he commuted 2 hours from Petaluma. Something about wanting to live to see his graduation day…

Seriously though, my X and I were looking for apartments when we were living in Redwood City (not the good part, either, if there is a good part of Redwood City) and were going to look at a couple places in Hayward. We drove about two blocks in, looked at each other and said “oh hell no” and turned the car around. That place made Redwood City look like Atherton. And that was about 6 years ago. I can only imagine how bad it’s gotten since then.

Good luck finding a less scary place to live. :frowning:

Actually, Inkleberry how much are you paying in rent over there and where do your husband and yourself (I can’t remember if you’re working or if you’re a stay at home mom) work, if you don’t mind me asking?

Yeah, I was on a friend’s roof at 9:15 to watch the Jack London Square show, and ended up being able to watch about four othe rshows as well… and we couldn’t see the Bay at all. There were also fireworks going off on Potrero Hill at 11:30 as I went over the Bridge.

Wow. I went to CSUH back in the 80’s, and Hayward wasn’t anywhere near that bad a place to live. That sucks pretty dang hard.

We may not have to live here much longer.

Wow, I loved redwood city. I lived on Farm Hill for a few years, and never once had any problems. I routinely rode my bike from the Caltrain station to home after midnight, and it was rare I even saw another person. I’m actually thinking of moving us back to my old townhouse there.

Though I must admit, there is a bad part of RC, luckily, I only had to occasionally drive through it.

Even EPA is considered decent now, which is amazing to me. I wouldn’t live there if you paid me though.

I miss my boring Penninsula where nothing happens after 6 PM.

My husband is a restuarant manager for Chilli’s, and I am (hopefully) going to be starting work this month at a drug & alcohol treatment facility in the Redwood City/Menlo Park area as a case manager and therapist.

We currently pay $1095/month for a 2 bedroom. And it’s worth not one penny of that.

I too went to CSU, Hayward. Class of 1979.

Fom what I understand, the name was changed to CSU, East Bay to be more inclusive to all of Alameda and Contra Costa counties. Not because much Hayward has become a “war zone,” or an emabrassment to the CSU system.

Well, if it were just your husband working, I’d say get your butts up to Rohnert Park, you can get a nice two bedroom from 800-1,000, with nary a crackhead in sight. Being a resturant manager at Chili’s, I’d hope he could transfer (there’s a Chili’s there, which I drag the S.O. to, regularly. Their black bean burgers are awesome.)

Can’t say I know what to do about you, though. The commute from Rohnert Park to Menlo Park isn’t realistic.

I’m so sorry. :frowning:

That is a lot more than I pay for my safe single bedroom apptmnt in Santa Clara. Please look to move to a better area, there really should be something available at that price or less, and the special move-in offers going arround at the moment might even make up for any loss you have against your deposit.

I just saw this. My wife and I were residents of Hollywood and later Clifton and Woodland streets during the same time period. Did you frequent Wendy’s Clark Brunch?

We’ve been trying to get out of the lease since February. Now we are litigating. We will be out of here very soon. Uh, that’s all I can really say.

Nope. Neither I nor my partner went to Clark. We got stuck in Pennywise when it was being held up a few times, which was the quintessential Worcester experience. But I was 19 then, and it was a fun adventure.

Well, s—howdy, I never thought I’d see mentioned on the 'Dope an area that I’m intimately familiar with. Inkleberry, I live right off of Jefferson, kind of near Alameda De Las Pulgas.

While I can state there is a bad part of Redwood City, since I work in it, I have never had problems aside from the idiots living on the other side of the fence throwing their malt liquor bottles onto our parking lot.

And I’ve had no issues with where I live. Of course, that’s right at the bottom of the hill; go towards the flatlands and south of Jefferson and it gets dodgier, but more in a “neighbors rev their motorcycles at 7am” kind of dodgy than anything worse.

Ya know, I keep seeing a sign for a house for rent off of Jefferson, near Red Morton. Want me to get a phone number for you? It’s on the way to work.

Sure. Can you snag the number off of Farm Hill Manor, by chance please? Funky Farm Hill/Farm Hill/ Jefferson corner, right above the school for the deaf.

That motorcycle guy has been around since 2002, at least. I know exactly who you mean, and it’s always 7 am, and then around 6:30 pm. Oh, and Saturday mornings. Up and down Farm Hill. I hates him. I hates him lots.

Redwood City native here - grew up on Whipple, between Laurel and Myrtle, a few blocks from Sequoia Hospital - and went to Sequoia High School (go Cherokees!). There are some nice spots especially as you head up the hills towards San Carlos on one side and Woodside on the other…

Hell this is like old home week. Hey yall, I lived in redwood city, and went to Woodside high (many many many years ago) Just popped in to say “Hey”

I think it’s great that we citizens of Redwood City, past and present, choose to get together in a thread with the words “Motherfucking”, “Father-Raping”, and “White Trash Fuckers” in the title.

Well, maybe “great” isn’t the best word.

Well, I did always describe it as “the armpit of the Bay Area”…

Technically, I think that’s more like San Jose.

I had no idea Redwood City was so seedy. I used to live the Bay Area was under the impression it was a middle class-to-upper middle class suburban city that was part of the continuous chain of development between San Francisco and San Jose. Of course, I was only seven years old when I lived in the Bay Area and likely things have changed a lot since then.
