If your e-mail address ends in @aol.com, how would you even notice the difference in the sheer volume of spam?
I did AOHell for about a year before I wised up and got Cable.
You won’t catch me defending AOL, but this could’ve happened (and will continue to happen) at any ISP.
Mr. Smathers apparently has himself a web site where some rather pissed off folks are writing him nice little love letters on his forum.
How creepily ironic the world would be if spammers actually gave a rat’s ass about how the people they were spamming felt about it.
I would like to disavow myself from any person referenced in the subject line.

I found his hit counter statistics fairly telling…
Too bad he hadn’t been really smart and sold some banner ads for his site.

It was something ridiculous like 3 hits a month for the past year, and then over 15000 hits on June 24 or 25th - whichever day the news hit the headlines.
