You think Paris-Dakar is tough? Try these guys on for size!

Hilarious stuff. The car may not cost more than GBP 100, and the race preparation costs may not exceed GBP 15.

They ride for charities, which is cool. But if you look at some of the heaps of rust they intend to steer towards Dakar, you have to wonder about their sanity! I hope none of them winds up a carcass in the desert. One of the teams is driving a 1981 Austin Allegro, for crying out loud. But they made it to Dakar (despite some trouble in Senegal, watch the Documentary), and are planning to ride again in 2004!

I’ll be checking this website with interest in the near future.

Coldfire,

Familiar with the Iron Butt crowd? I ride a 1986 Yamaha FJ1200, and we’ve (the FJOC/UKFJOC) got a couple of pretty serious LD riders…

Although I can’t see attempting to hustle an FJ to Dakar…

Not familiar, I’m afraid… but I am lusting after an FJR-1300 myself, does that help?

Welcome to the boards, by the way.

Holy shaite!!! Screw the NEOHIO SCCA, Team Buick is going across the pond!!!
