You want to do something really nice for your spouse: What do you do?

I find him beaver.

No, not that kind of beaver. His favorite animal is the beaver and he has a collection of stuffed animals, figurines, bobbleheads, etc. Well, if he’s been particularly great, I try to find him a new beaver for his collection. Or, the last time, I arranged for us to take a weekend trip to the Minnesota Zoo where they have a beaver exhibit so he could see a real beaver in person.

Then he ought to do that nice stuff all the time.

Which way were you going with that? Selfish question, or something special for him?

See post #18, please.

Serenata, I hope you won’t be offended if I say that your post is one of the funniest things I’ve seen on here in a while.

 I didn’t think of it in the latter sense, let’s put it that way.

Then consider post #20.

Popcorn and a basketball game. And something he really really likes for dinner that I don’t make very often.
OlivesMarch4th had a thread like this a while back, and I was suprised how many men liked popcorn. And summer sausage.

Joking aside, go to his inner child. Is there something he never had growing up? Try to fill that need. Men like something the other guy’s will notice, just like some women (my wife) like jewelry because the other women notice it. Anything from a great looking pocket knife, to a really cool GPS.

Anyway, you must be something special yourself. When I hear about a couple so thrilled with each other, I hate you. No, I’m kidding, just married a long time.

Maybe if you told us some of his interests, we could make concrete suggestions. Does he like tools, sports, guns, porn, any of the regular guy things?

BJ, a sleep in without the baby around while I go out to get bombolonis (an Italian custard filled doughnut, not a euphemism).

Leave town.

Seriously, I’ve:
Made gluten-free cake
Bought gluten-free cake
Brought home chocolates (is there a pattern here?)
Made socks
