You Win An Award! What Do You Want?

Priority registration.

Some sort of ceremonial headdress.

I’ll take a full scholarship to a good school, please.

Failing that, I’ll take a ring or other jewelry. At least I could sell it if I needed to.

A friend won an SCA rapier tournament in Finland and was awarded a parrying dagger. That was cool

I was awarded an actual medieval iron buckle once. That was also cool.

My GPS recorded in the voice of my favorite celebrity.

Just give me one of Clapton’s guitars

a really big meatball sandwich

Tacos.

Depends.

The cash awards are paid by the country you represent, not by the Olympics. If you’re American you’re looking at a cool $25,000 for gold, $15,000 for silver, or $10,000 for bronze. If you’re British, you get the shaft.

Grin! I’m another!

To answer the question, I’m very fond of pins. Little medals with pin-backs. I have a big cork-board and I stick 'em there.

Good old-fashioned political campaign buttons are also fun; if I won the Miniver Cheevy Award for Moral Crapulence, a campaign-style button would be just fine. (“I use it to hold my underwears up.”)

I’ll take a ring or jewelry. Back when my company actually offered service anniversary awards, I always chose the jewelry or ring. That’s been discontinued, but I’m planning to purchase some piece of commemorative jewelry to observe my 25th anniversary in a few years.

When I was a kid, I dreamed of earning a trophy. That’s because I assumed that they were made of solid gold, and I would be rich! Imagine my disappointment when I got my participation trophy for playing soccer in the 4th grade. I still want a giant, solid gold trophy, which I would have melted down.

No one…NO ONE…wants a pony? What’s wrong with you people?

I would enjoy being awarded a newly constructed home (and the land it is on) in a design and location of my choosing.

A princess’s hand in marriage

I would like a beer and money sandwich, hold the bread.

A Nobel, mainly because it means I made a definite positive contribution to the world in some manner. The money would be nice also.

I would like a nice engraved plaque with my name on it…attached to a giant sequoia somewhere.
