Since this site is dominated by old fogeys these days, I was wondering who the youngest Doper is.

Either the under-30s of the forum are really shy or we are all old fogeys. I hope it’s the former than the latter!

I know @Max_S is under 30 because he put his birth year in his profile. Maybe he’s the only one! 
If qin_shi_huangdi were still around he would be in college, perhaps recently graduated…

There was a Doper who was clearly a student asking how to order a drink in a bar, and how to be attractive to “girls”. Then he was approaching the end of college and unsure of how to look for a job…and girls. Then he was just out of college and unsure of how to live in an apartment and cook and clean and invite girls over.
Not sure of the name… sta and then a number?
The fact this thread has been up for four days and has only gotten one response from its intended audience does seem to suggest there basically aren’t more than a handful of under-30 posters.
Not a shock. Polls don’t seem to have translated in the move to Discourse, but thankfully Zeldar did a tally of 563 votes near the end of this 2010 poll. Aside from the much larger general population back then it tallied 130 posters as 20-29 - any of them left are now definitely over 30 
. There was a grand total of five teenagers - even back in those days the largest group were the over-40’s. There hasn’t been an enormous amount of new young blood since then.
Yeah. I knew there weren’t loads, but I thought there’d at least be a few.
I want to say I’m surprised that isn’t the case, but I’m actually not.
I mean, where would they even hear about the boards? Even if they did find/get referred here, most of them would think the whole “Cecil” thing is, as the kids say, ‘Cringe’ and any of the ones who got past that would realise they’re basically hanging around with their parents of grandparents and then leave as soon as someone bit their head off for having a viewpoint the older poster didn’t like.

Similar here. I joined at 26 and I’m 33 now. Hard to believe that the Dope has already accounted for 1/5 of my life.

I don’t think we can assume that because somebody doesn’t post in this thread that they aren’t here.
I took a fast glance at the title and was curious about who’s the youngest member; but the age limit is 13. So, though I know the board averages older, I was assuming that the likely answer would be somewhere in the mid-teens. I thought the title was asking who the youngest individual is, and I wouldn’t have assumed that the thread was asking for anyone and everyone in their late teens, twenties, and thirties to weigh in; so if I were in that age group, even if I’d seen the title, I might not have come into the thread. And some people browse by category and never look at some of the categories.
