Yes, I intended to and am spending less this year. I got roped into a fairly high dollar sibling gift exchange, but other than that I’m about on budget.
Much online shopping this year wherever possible. One purchase through Amazon from a private individual is still up in the air. I ordered a new, slim paperback book on Nov. 26 but it wasn’t shipped until a week later, media rate. (Took a whole week off for Thanksgiving? How much could “media rate” have saved for such a lightweight purchase?)
I’ve completed about 90% of my shopping but only about half has arrived.
I’m making custom t-shirts for the 12 nieces and nephews on the photo printer instead of gift AND t-shirt. Also making custom calendars for each parent, sibling, two sister’s-in-law, the in-laws and one aunt. I am no longer making calendars for my sister-in- law’s in-laws or siblings in-laws.
Fewer gifts for Mrs. Lorenzo this year, but about the same money.
Very well, thanks. Except for the fact that I still have this incredible talent for walking into a store, finding the most expensive thing in the department and saying “That would be perfect for So-and-so.” Followed by looking at the price and hastily putting down the $225 sweater that would have been beautiful on my brother.

As of this morning…110% (I learned of an unplanned likely guest at the family Christmas on Christmas day and picked something up for him, though it’s by no means expected. There is still one dark horse potential attendee in the form of a siblings SO, but since I have 4 things for Mom, one can be “renamed” for the GF if necessary.)

No, not making anything. Sort of buying for fewer people - I don’t have the work folks to deal with, but the family is still all there. Yep - normally fewer and/or less expensive. The exception to this is mom - I actually bought her main gift back in June when I was still working.

Nope, except Monday morning is obviously the time to head to the mall, at least here in Knoxville. There was plenty of parking and almost no one in the stores.

I’m a little upset with amazon. I wanted to buy clothes online and get the $30 gift certificate. However, the items I put into my cart were not available until December 6, (after first being available November 26), so I just got the stuff from the Gap online and forgot about the certificate.

I just need to buy for my husband after doing my son, two brothers (we drew them in the lottery) and five nieces and nephews - you do the math.

I did end up spending less, but only because I decided not to do the whole mall-stress thing. Stress was the factor, not $.

Mall free since November 1st. (And I refuse to go in it again until Jan. 1st!)

Let’s see… I gotta get books for my Mom, Dad, and sister and I already got a Teddy bear for my Girlfriend (huge white teddy bear, she’ll love it!)
So that would be 1/4 of my stuff is done, on the 20th or so I’ll go to the bookstore for a couple hours for the rest of my stuff… I might pick up a few things for other ppl if I see something they’d like at the bookstore.

I am so not stressed out. Screw the malls, they blow anyway.
I have only bought one gift per se, that was today when I chanced upon it. Most of my Santa $$ is going to fund my son’s trip overseas. I guess my daughter and I will just give each other a hug for Xmas.
I will be making christmas cookies to take to all my clients.
