Your animals aren't your kids.

George? George Foreman, is that you?

Will you please just respond, specifically, to my first post, if you dare?

To summarize, and to save you, and others, some effort: Domesticated animals are not really human children. To consider them such is pure folly. Neither are human children more than domesticated animals. They are vile, insipid, and mean-spirited little twats, same as their parents.

Given the choice between the two, at least taking on an animal, say from a shelter, provides that animal with a more pleasant life than it might have had otherwise. This is a nice thing to do.

Having a child, however, ensures that another sentient (read “self-aware”) being will suffer a lifetime all in the name of its purely egotistical parents’ inability to resist their instinctual desire to see their genetic structure replicated. This is a mean thing to do.

Threatening to “dispense with [my] presence” addresses none of these points. I have done no hijacking. I have presented my views, then cajoled people to address these views directly, which they clearly do not dare to do. Is this my fault?

And is this not The Pit, for crying out loud? To consider banning someone from this locale is a tremendous stretch. Push your little minions to do more than whine and prance about in foot-stomping protest to everything with which they may not agree, rather than threaten to exclude someone who’s pushing their all-too-easily tripped buttons. This would do everyone some good.

We have a real opportunity on these boards, and we must not allow it to go to waste out of pettiness and fear.

May I ask what your dissertation was on?

You call it pushing buttons, but we call it trolling and being a jerk.

You were asked to stop, drmark2000, but you persist in continuing. I’m closing this thread and your posting privileges are under review.
