My least favorite is the SEC, which has been obnoxious about its supposed superiority for 50 years. The fact that recently they have had the football national champion just makes them that much more obnoxious.
As a Kent State grad I have to say that the Mid-American Conference is my favorite. Students get a good education at a good price, and the basketball isn’t too shabby.
This. This is the reason why I can’t stand the Big 10 [sic].
Do better in bowl games if they were in your own back yard. LOL Yep, lets go play a game in Cleveland around xmas. About a bowl game in Chicago on New Years day.
Boise State? never played in the Rose Bowl. and someone better look at the original bowl matchups in the Rose Bowl. It didn’t start as an annual matchup between Pac-10 and Big 10. In fact the Pac-8 (later Pac-10, later Pac-12?) didn’t even become a conference until 1959.
Teams that have played in the Rose Bowl include Harvard, Brown, Ga Tech, Georgia, Tennessee, Alabama, Navy, SMU, Tulane.
May I suggest that somebody – maybe the OP – build a poll or polls along the lines of these that I started last year, but using the conferences instead of teams.

Weight of numbers versus loudness of screams ought to play into the issue more convincingly, IMHO.
You could make it so the poll(s) is/are “public” so that the lovers and haters can be identified.
Of course it is an advantage for the southern-based teams to play bowl games in the South. To deny that fact is to deny reality. Now that we have these new fangled things called covered stadiums, in such places as Indianapolis, Detroit and (maybe eventually again assuming they get the roof fixed) Minneapolis, we could play some bowl games in the north and find out how much an advantage playing a bowl game close to home actually is.
