tr0psn4j is probably referring to the live version on Made in Japan, or some other live version.
Tubular Bells Part I - Mike Oldfield - 25:31
Alice’s Restaurant Massacree - Arlo Guthrie - 18:34
I Heard It Through the Grapevine - Creedence Clearwater Revival - 11:07
In My Time of Dying - Led Zeppelin - 11:05
Free Bird - Lynard Skynard - 10:07
War Pigs - Black Sabbath - 7:57
Layla - Eric Clapton - 7:06
I assume we’re not including live versions of our favourites ‘cause the list’ll get waaaay long.
Cardinal’s version of Space Truckin’ is off the Live In Japan album

Screwd up the edit - tr0psn4j’s query was answered during my post
It’s interesting that most of the songs nominated are 60s and 70s classic and prog rock. I’ve been trying think of more recent chart hits that meet the 7 minute minimum and I’m not coming up with much.
I’m pretty sure “Svefn-G-Englar” (10:04) by Sigur Rós was a hit but other than that I’m drawing a blank. My first thought was “Paranoid Android” by Radiohead but, at 6:23, it doesn’t quite meet the 7 minute cut-off.
Can anybody else think of +7 min hit song from, say, the last 20 years?
Iron Butterfly, In-a-gadda-da-vida.
17 minutes and the best drum solo ever.
Queen, The Prophet’s Song
Wiki says ‘‘over eight minutes.’’ Best eight minutes ever.
Tool Lateralus
Daft Punk- Around the World
The Pet Shop Boys have had several
I don’t know if the Sonic Youth song “Mariah Carey and the Arthur Doyle Hand Cream” is considered a hit, but I heard it a lot on the radio when Sonic Nurse came out.
Master of Puppets - Metallica (8:34)
Hurricane - Bob Dylan (8:31)
Civil War - Guns n’ Roses (7:40)
Cemetery Gates - Pantera (7:02)
No Quarter - Led Zeppelin (7:00)
“Ball and Biscuit” - The White Stripes
“Estranged” - Guns N’ Roses
Meatloaf, the “that” song.
Does anyone know how many of these were actual hits or released as singles at their full length.
I ask because only weeks ago I was playing Layla and the people listening had no idea that there was any long piano part because they had only heard the radio version.
My 45 of “Layla” is timed at 7:10. It’s a stock copy, though; the promo copies sent to radio stations may have included a shorter edit.
removed warning about not being rock
Death Cab For Cutie - I Will Possess Your Heart. 8m31s. Music Vid
I forgot to mention: it’s available for listening on YouTube.
Loan Me A Dime by Boz Scaggs with Duane Allman on guitar - 12:33 on the album version. I can only find it in 2 parts on Youtube and (sadly) not the original version.
8:21…at least, that’s what the copy I ripped from my CD times out at.
A favorite of my son’s: Green Day, Jesus of Suburbia (9:08)
What? no mention of Autobahn by Kraftwerk (22:49) - one of the classic “long songs”
I think this is a vastly underrated Rush song. I’ve always really liked it.
Also, from the OP’s list, Floyd’s “Time” rates up there somewhere too.
