Your favorite old food

I miss Tato Skins. I don’t think they’re available around here anymore. I haven’t seen them in years.

The Bacon and Cheddar were pretty darn good.

I remeber Willy Wonka scrunch bars, too. Far better than Zagnuts or Clarks… And hella better than that stick in your teeth Butterfinger crap.

The candy store in our town still has these, and Squirrel Nut Zippers, too.

Man I had just about forgotten Sharkleberry Finn. I must have drunk gallons of the stuff as a kid. I had a little baggie held up on the fridge by a magnet just stuffed to the brim with Kool-Aid points, mostly from Sharkleberry Finn.

I remember those fruit bars as well - in a similar thread a few years back I think I mentioned them. I always wondered if I had dreamt them up, but no, they actually existed!

Marathon, not Marathon, right?

When I was in Little League, I was absolutely crazy for Wacky Wafers, but now they no longer are part of the Wonka candy line. :frowning:

By far my most favorite restaurant entree as a kid was Bob’s Big Boy’s spaghetti & chili, which they also don’t make any more (replacing it with your standard “meat sauce”; BAH!).

Okay, I’m drawing a blank on the name, but these went away fairly recently, within the last few years.

It’s supposedly a healthy food, and they came in a green container…they were yogurt, but they were all chocolate flavored…chocolate raspberry, dark chocolate, chocolate mint, and they tasted like pudding. Yum!

I still see the cookies and stuff marketed, but the yogurt has gone away, probably because although it was fat-free, the stuff was about half sugar. :smack:

Does anyone know the brand I’m talking about? I’m remembering a commercial with two ladies…ring a bell?

Oh, and I miss Arthur Treacher’s lemon pies. :frowning:

Not the Yoplait “It’s Francois the waiter good!” ladies? Green container = Snackwell’s fat free/sugar-rich food. Ah, here.

gigi, I am sorry but…EWWWWWWWW!!!

I still see Tahitian Treat quite often (think I may go buy one).

I had a bag of Tato Skins within the past year or so. They were not nearly as good as I remembered.
I am not a huge Hershey’s fan, but I loved the cookies 'n mint (something like that) bar. I see it every now and then…maybe around Christmas…but I always forget to stock up.

Do they still make Whip-n-Chill?

The Marathons I meant was pure caramel, covered in chocolate. They were long and flat and in a braid shape.

Known as Curly Wurlies in the UK

I miss old school Pepperidge Farm cookies…Capri, Tahiti, Brussels, Lido, Chocolate Chip, Ginger Man, Lemon Nut, Orleans, Milano etc. etc.

Some, like the Milano, have obviously had their recipes altered and not for the better. Others have been discontinued.

One last Capri dipped in ice cold milk would be nice.

See, I’m so glad you said that - I have told my husband that I thought they had changed the recipes and he disagreed - I’m glad I’m not the only one who thinks so!

And I really really miss Sunshine Lemon Coolers.

Snackwell…that was it!!

Laura Scudder’s Mini Tacos.

Planter’s Dry Roasted Cashews.

Nabisco’s Bacon Thins.

Heh. Don’t knock it till you try it. And look, it came back in December 2006 just for you! :stuck_out_tongue:

Yeah, the first one. They were great!

Candy cigarettes are fun.

Anyone else remember Wiener Wagons? Those were hot dog buns that you didn’t split in half, there was a deep groove in the top to deposit your hot dog.

Black Cow. Like a Slo Poke but better.

Sweet tarts the size of a child’s fist.

Candy cigs of course. So what if they looked like cigarettes? They were good!

Chalet creme Girl Scout cookies.

We called this “Cum gum”

Of course, the taste is completely different but the effect was remarkably the same

That reminds me, one of the few Pepperidge Farm cookies I could eat were the Molasses Crisps but I haven’t seen them in years.
