Your Favorite Place to Buy Corduroy Pants

I love Cords for the fall/winter, even if they aren’t technically warmer, they SEEM warmer.

I have two questions for you dopers:

Where do you purchase your Cords? What brand? What style?

Are cords considered business casual? (Assuming the right style)

Bonus question:

Is it just me or do these babies fade FAST? Any way to alleviate that?

Wow. I didn’t know they still made them.

What are you talking about? They may not be ‘in’ like red jeggings, but they never go out of fashion.

Check out Lands’ End (they advertise cords ‘for when jeans are too casual but dress pants are too dressy’) . Mr. Sali has purchased online from Lands’ End for years.

Also, L.L. Bean has corduroy for everyone. This is the time of year to buy corduroy clothing.

I order online from LL Bean and The Territory Ahead. Yeah, business casual is how I view them. I’ve only heard one manager say they were inappropriate and he meant just for other brass, not the worker bees.

I get 'em at Kohl’s. Store brand, don’t recall what they are called. Two names, like “Coopers and Lybrand” or something like that.

I be stylin’.

HEY! GET BACK HERE! Where did you get those!?!?!

I want to see a skit where several people debate the width of the cords for the pitch difference they make when walking.

(See, I like wide cords cause they give that deep bass VRUMP VRUMP VRUMP to them, as opposed to thin cords with that wimpy vwipvwipvwip!

What salinqmind and lieu said. I’ve owned two pairs of LL Bean cords for years. No signs of fading except where the cords have worn thin in the crotch and on the knees.

I also have a pair of LL Bean canvas pants. Those are some heavy pants!

A friend of mine in high school once told us that a girl had danced so hard on him at Homecoming that one leg of his cords were now a slack.

I buy my cords from Old Navy (I’m female, but they have cords for men as well). I love wearing cords, including the sound they make when you walk. I realized recently that I’m reverting to the clothes I used to wear every day in high school: a pair of cords and a T-shirt.

I work in a casual Friday office where the rest of the week has been getting more and more casual. I find that I can get away with cords during the week as long as I am wearing a nice jacket or cardigan on top.
