Oh, I had a crush on Amy Jo Johnson, too. But earlier than that I had a crush on Elizabeth Montgomery from Bewitched. The next major one after that was Jennifer Aniston when that Rolling Stone magazine spread of hers came out. It was the centerpiece of a friend’s birthday party.
The most significant celebrity crush of my youth, though, was Neve Campbell since Party of Five came on the air. I still appreciate her work with an extra fondness, and I really loved The Company.
Elvira, Mistress of the Dark. I must have been 5 or 6, since this was around 1984. She started my obsessions with Goth girls and cleavage that I have to this day!
I saw Star Wars for the first time when I was six years old. From then on I grew up knowing that I wanted to be Han Solo. It was only later that I realized that it wasn’t to be, it was to do.
Before that, it was Jodie Foster from Candleshoe. I was about 4 or 5, and it’s the first movie I ever saw in a theater.
Oh, man! I totally forgot about Escape to Witch Mountain! I watched that movie non-stop when I was little, and I thought she was just dreamy. I always imagined what it’d be like to have a girlfriend with super powers.
There were a few minor one before her but I when I saw Carey Lowell in *Licence to Kill * I couldn’t take my eyes off her. She was so beautiful and sassy.
It’s never left me either. She still blows me away.
Richard Chamberlain as Dr. Kildare. I am amazed that I didn’t turn out to be a hypochondriac, since I spent so much time daydreaming about what injury or disease I would get that would put me in his arms. sigh…
Jennifer Connelly, when she was in Labyrinth. I don’t think she’s that much older than me actually.
Oh, IMDB says she was 16 in that, and I was 9. Nevermind. I still like her now.
My first crush that I remember (I was 7) was Lindsay Wagner. The crush hit me when she guest-starred on the Six Million Dollar Man. I fell in love with her during the episode, which ended with her character’s death. I was so devastated by this that I was crying all night. Later the character was spun off as the Bionic Woman, but it was too late. The damage had been done.
