Your first celebrity crush

James Dean, after seeing the original release of “Rebel without a Cause.” (I know - that makes me an old fart, but I’m NOT I tell you, I’m not!) I was absolutely crushed when I saw the newpaper reporting on his fatal auto accident.

Carolyn Jones. I’d share a coffin with her any day.

My first crush was probably either Jodi Foster, on The Courtship of Eddie’s Father, or Goldie Hawn from her Laugh In days. I finally got over both of those crushes by the age of…

…well, I’ll let you know.

Cheryl Ladd on Charlie’s Angels. I was frankly glad to see Farrah go…

Since early childhood crushes seem to be included, I must confess to one I’d forgotten: Neptunia, the girl mermaid from Marine Boy, an anime shown in the US during the 60’s.

Mine. What can I say? I have seven sisters!

Noel Neill. Lois Lane. Tied up tightly to a chair (in almost every episode). Ropes tied tightly around her breasts. Wearing high-heeled shoes with her ankles tightly bound together. Her mouth tightly gagged. Dumb-assed Jimmy tied up next to her, completely clueless to the erotic situation. Yeesh!
I would have been about 5 when I first noticed this.

I’ll chime in with a me too, on Shaun Cassidy. Ah, Da Do Run Run and The Hardy Boys.

Around that time I was also pretty darn fond of David Soul from Starsky and Hutch. I still know all the words to Don’t Give Up on Us Baby. :o

Crushes, I’ve had many. Hmm, as far back as I can remember:
George Harrison
Davy Jones
The Professor from Gilligan’s Island
David Cassidy
and somewhere along the line I saw an old Gregory Peck movie … hubba, hubba
By the way, Chronos, several years ago I actually met Dawn Wells a couple different times. She was very nice and still cute.

Olga Korbut, during the 1972 Munich Olympics.

This all came on to me at roughly the same time, but I had room for all of them:

TV actresses: Barbara Feldon (Get Smart), Jan Smithers (WKRP in Cincinnatti),

Movie actresses: Jane Fonda (Cat Ballou), Carole Bouquet (For Your Eyes Only)

Musicians: Annabella Lwin (Bow Wow Wow), Kim Gordon (Sonic Youth)

Other: Daphne (Scooby Doo), Cathy Ireland (Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue; laying in tulip petals)

George Will circa 1974

You could be me, except for the fact that I was only 5 when The Dukes of Hazzard started. However, my crush timeline is eerily similar to yours.

I’m really feeling old in this thread.

I was a precocious child, and I watched far too much television from an early age. The very first crushes I can remember are James Brolin as Dr. Steven Kiley on Marcus Welby, M.D. and Brian Keith as Uncle Bill on Family Affair. I was maybe three or four years old.

First and only

Joey Ramone

Dirk Benedict on “Battlestar Galactica”. I even watched the “A-Team” just so I could see him.

I’m almost embarassed to admit it, but… Eartha Kitt as Catwoman on the old Batman TV series. She wasn’t drop-dead gorgeous, but she dripped sensuality.

I always thought Maryanne was hotter than Ginger on Gilligan’s Island. But there we’re getting into characters, not actresses.

Alyssa Milano from, of course, who’s the Boss.

Candace Cameron from full house.

Winona Ryder from Beetle Juice (It always drove me a little crazy that the movie is Beetle Juice and the character is Beetlegeuse. I know why but it’s still annoying)

Ahhh…for those innocent days of childhood, when Dwight Evans played for the Boston Red Sox. I can still remember his batting stance…

Then there was also:
Mackenzie Astin (The Facts of Life)
Wil Wheaton (as in Stand By Me, not as the dork on Star Trek)

And while we’re talking about Star Trek:TNG, I’m going to have to admit my greatest shame…I had a crush on Brent Spiner as Data!

Me too! I think it was because she was the only one who had tits.

I guess I’m that old too.

Later I moved on to Mrs. Emma Peel.

Maybe not a celebrity, but on TV: when I was 4 or 5 in the early 70s there was a little blonde girl named Emily on the children’s show Zoom. My heart went zoom too.

Nothing further in the onscreen crush department until one of the Sagal sisters (yes, only one…Liz, I think) on Double Trouble.
