Your first furniture in the MMP

While you’re incapacitated (and if you like them, even later), these may come in handy. I like them for warm weather when I dress pretty casually (most of the time). If you have bigger boobs, you may need more support, but I (C cup) do OK with them.

Went to the infections doctor today. If the tests come back to where I have to have ongoing treatment for this s**t, I’m not going to be able to go up to Dad’s for the family reunion. I’m just tired of doctors and such. Oh, well.

And you didn’t offer to share with Metal Mouse?

Doggio: You can have the cream pies. I want them to bring back the banana pudding rolls.

62 ferrets at 1900, down from a high of 72. We had 65 yesterday and 78 the day before – much better than last week! Supposed to be up in the 80s again tomorrow and the rest of the week, though. :frowning:

I think the first furniture I bought for myself was a pair of six-foot bookcases a few years after I escaped from got out of high school. Gave one of them to a friend who helped us move fifteen years ago; the other one, in rather sorry shape after 45 years or so of use, is behind me as I type this.

More RDOS in store for the next few days, unless we go shopping.

I walked to Dunkin to get an english muffin to get me 50 points.
Its slow there in evening. I sat down to order on my phone and got up to the counter to see a small iced coffee, 2 cream 2 sugar 7 mocha. The girl made it for me, she knows my order. Second time shes done this for me. I put 2 dollars in the tip jar.
Just when I feel noone cares, a stranger does something like this.
:blue_heart::bubble_tea:

To check my biopsy I log in to my UH chart. Years ago I made my username Lemoncake.
Just realized I should’ve called it Lemonpoundcake.
Oh, interview went well. He said he’d talk to his manager which isnt a good sign but asked me if I wore a medium or large top.

Howdy Y’all! Laundry got laundered and put where it stays until it gets dirty again. Then we went and got shorn cause we both needed to and to get out of da cave for a bit. Nappage, day drinkin’ and sup were also accomplished. Thus is the news from swampland.

Up from naptime. There was 2 hours of thunderstorms. I’m having a Manhattan, and chicken, rice, asparagus, and mushrooms with mushroom sauce. Spot is having dry, flavorless bits and tepid water.

I voted for the Senior Clerk. She actually knows what the hell’s going on, and gives management both barrels when they need it.

Nice!

Yay!

< crosses fingers >

I do it myself at the beginning of the month. But I’ve got so little hair even SuperCuts is $1/minute for a cut at this point.

Evening all. Went out to mow the lawn but the clouds and a rumble of thunder made me reconsider, so instead did my ‘watch soccer on the treadmill’ workout and of course the game went to overtime and PK’s, so got a little more exercise than planned. Came home and nuked my usual 2sday Mac-n-Cheese and followed it up with pods of applesauce and chocolate pudding, so feeling pretty full. Probably will do a load or two of laundry tomorrow so it’s not sitting around while I’m gone and do the mowing. Notes sent to neighbor and brother regarding my travels, so that is covered. Now too just remember to pack everything I’ll need…

FCM, hope the yard work continues to go well; obviously you don’t need to go to the gym like I do, you get a workout just weeding the lawn.

Mollie, good news on the hair and some colorful nails.

JtC, glad your more comfortable, but like lily says, don’t rush it.

Coppertone, good news on the spots. Fingers crossed on the job hunt. And Dunkin makes muffins? (Shows how often I go there). And nice they know your order, the Jersey MIke’s I go to on Monday’s used to start my sammich as soon as they saw me, but the crew has changed so much and I’ve started alternating between two sammiches, so that has passed by.

red, hope the tests will allow you some freedom of movement.

doggio, a wise decision on your vote. Hope she wins. And I hear you about the haircut, I go to Great Clips only when it gets long enough over the ears that it irks me.

OK, after 9pm so need to finish up my internettin’ and get some sleepage so I can do all the pre-trip stuff tomorrow.

Another nice day here, started out at 52Ferrets, rose briefly to 83F and is now back down to 78F. I’ll have the windows back open for the cool breezes in a couple of hours.

metal mouse, good you got to the bottom of the thermostat issues! I’m sorry it was costly (isn’t everything, these days?), but at least it wasn’t a problem with the unit itself. And don’t worry; that mowing will still be there tomorrow.

doggio, you got some good use out of that Brita filter. Glad you could still get another. Hope it lasts another 20 years.

Lily, I would spend hours exploring your books. I’m so impressed with the breadth of your interests!

red, your Senegalese peanut butter chicken sounds mouth watering. Would you be willing to share the recipe? I love easy and tasty, too. Also, I hope you are able to make your family reunion.

cat glove, glad you got your power cut fixed. With the weather we’re all having, it would be a bad time to go without power for very long.

Nut, I hope the day went better than you expected. Sometimes they do. At least the market had the cider.

Feeling for you, BooFae, over those nasty high temperatures. May they abate soon.

FCM, I’ve got a “widow maker” branch hanging in one of the fir trees I walk under half a dozen times a day. Nothing seems to dislodge it, but there will be a strong enough wind one day. Like you, I just warn people to not walk under it, then promptly ignore my own advice.

knots, I don’t follow soccer at all, but like you, I was glad to hear we lost to Belgium. LOL, loved the mixed metaphors by NPR!

rocker, lager is too clever for his own good. The brick suggested by Lily is a good idea!

Pretty sunrise pic as usual, Mollie! I’m glad you were able to pull out of the drift – that would scare almost anyone. Cute toes, too. Looking forward to seeing the new 'do!

Flyboy, my bun doesn’t interrupt its dandelion consumption when it sees me, either. I guess they really like dandelions.

taters, happy planting!

cookie, the dolls are really cool. I can see why you find Carving His Own Face the most interesting. To me, too. I hope laundry tasks were short and sweet.

teelabrown, I hope the lunch was as enjoyable as you anticipated it would be.

JtC, yyyaaaayyyy!!! So glad the stitches are out and the surgical tape is gone! I guess you have to remove stitches to get back to stitches, eh? I’m thrilled you’re more comfortable at last!

Good news on the biopsy, coppertone! Hope the job pans out.

herald, I’m relieved to learn I’m not the only person who drags furniture along on every move! Enjoy the RDOS time.

Bit of a jumbled day here. Ollie has something going on with his right ear. He had a nail trim appointment first thing this morning, and the guys that run that place gave his ears a good clean out, too. I had some unexpired ear medication for him from the last time he had an ear issue, so we’ll see if that does the trick. I should know by Thursday if he’s better or needs to see the vet.

Since I wasn’t sure if I was going to have to take him in to see the vet, I rescheduled a tit squish that was set for tomorrow. No biggie; it’s postponed for just a week.

Breakfast was a repeat of yesterday, and I just now finished off the last piece of the small chicken pesto pizza I made last night for dinner. I ate 3 pieces last night. Should’ve done two and two, 'coz I couldn’t sleep worth a damn.

So help me, for the sake of a friend who is trying hard to stick with the DASH diet, I’m going to make avocado chocolate mousse for dessert at lunch on Saturday. Not something I would ordinarily try, but the things we do for friends… Who knows? It may surprise me. Anyone got any experience of this concoction? I know it’s not a new concept. It just seems discordant, though.

Hope everyone has a great evening!

These days, the advice seems to be to keep wounds moist to aid healing.

This can be made with beef or lamb too. It’s easy peasy and I served it over cous cous.

Imagine my surprise when I clicked on your link to return to the thin nipple covers link! It was a great laugh! But you may want to re-do that link…? Would that go well with beef or lamb, too?

The man just texted me saying he spoke to his manager and theyre going to
Give me a chance to show what I can do
Which sounds odd, like they will dump me at the first mistake. Usually its a youre hired or welcome to the team.
I did give him my available hours and the position is what I’d want and am experienced at. Never ate there; they have foods I have not seen elsewhere.
Its on a busy street with other restaurants around. The bus gets me there in 35 minutes.

I’ve learnt that if I don’t have time to think about it, my head is pretty level. If there’s a lead up to a dangerous situation, my ability to self-sabotage is boundless.

I was hoping the polish would be a little more lavender, but it’s still pretty.

I also bought a purse today. I’m planning to wear a t-shirt dress tomorrow, and I’ll have no pockets.

Speaking of irk, I have been assigned the balancing of General Ledger prepaid card reloads and cash advances. This afternoon, I scanned everyone’s checks and did the associated stuff. I won’t do that one every day, since I close drive-up three days per week. But it’s good to be assigned tasks ‘for me’. Still have to interact with :grimacing: people.

The pub where I hung out in Scotland had a big window right in front of the bar, and I passed in front of that window on the way in. If the full-time bartender was working, by the time I’d walked ~15 feet to the door and then ~15 feet back to the bar, no matter how many people were in the queue ahead of me my pint of cider would be sitting there waiting for me.

IA > CT > VA (and another move in VA) > HI > SCT > VA > CT > VA (and another move in VA) > CT (and then three more moves in CT)… .

What? In the land of 10,000 lakes? Surely there is somewhere close enough that you could find some relief.
Also, don’t the drug stores in MSP give COVID shots? The ones here in metropolitan Detroit do.

Alll this talk about taking languages in school. I took shorthand, 3 semesters, still use it from time to time when I need to take notes. When I worked in San Antonio, they had a suboffice in Laredo and I learned some Spanish there. Then 4 months before I returned to the Mitten, I had a client in Eagle Pass; it was a lawyer for an estate that had been spinach farmers. They hadn’t filed any taxes in years; nor did anyone ever keep any accounting records. There were tons of documents in the office and it was my task to make sense of them, prepare financial records and the tax returns. I was there for close to 3 months. The daughter of the decedent would come in regularly and she taught me a lot of Spanish. The most memorable phrase was Eres muy guapo. Never really did have an opportunity to use it.

After so many mentions of the slutty brownies, I had to look them up as well. Betty Crocker has a box mix that makes a chocolate chip cookie brownie bar. All that’s missing are the oreos. When I bring the chocolate chip cookie brownie bars, everyone loves them. I’m not sure what the addition of oreos would do to them. I’m up in the air; don’t think I’d like it.

oh sheesh, talking about little rooms. For my final term I rented a room in a house that was the size of a shoebox. It fit my twin bed and a very small cubby to put my clothes in. The aisle next to the bed was no more than 18".

I’ve been trying to get caught up all day but so much that was going on precluded me from getting any further than post 75. Will try tomorrow.

What went on. . . .well, first thoroughly watered the garden with 8 gallons of water then refilled all the jugs, washed black garments that had some bleach stains, watched a fair amount of Wimbledon, when daughter and girlfriend came over, first worked with girlfriend to cut up the limb that ripped off the tree, sorting into usable firewood after it ages and unusable twigs and leaves into the yard waste barrel, then helped daughter with redying my black garments, took Bella for a long walk, made lunch for the 3 of us-ham & cheese sandwiches with bell pepper strips, fresh cuke wedges that I picked this morning (Hubs was on his own), then Hubs & I went to the Stem Cell Clinic for follow-up appointment and he finally was given an MMR shot. He has to get another one in 2 months. When we returned home, I finished the process with the black garments by first making a solution of very hot water and the Colorstay Dye Fixative and stirring the garments within the solution for 20 minutes then rinsing with cold water. Next I filled 2 weeks worth of pills for Hubs. The good news is the Dr said he doesn’t have to take 2 more prescriptions any more so he’s down to only 6 different pills each day, although some of them he takes both morning and evening, then I filtered about 4 gallons of water and made spaghetti with meat sauce and broccoli for dinner; finished the rest of the key lime pie for dessert. (since the power was only off for 14 hrs, we didn’t lose any food)

Whew, I’m beat particularly since I woke up about 4:15am and it’s now 11pm. So, Imma hit the hay, Hope to catch up with all you fine peeps tomorrow. G’Night.

Here in CT it’s drugstores, supermarkets with pharmacy section, and WallyWorld.

Where in CT are you?

I do too! Can’t wait to see the new hair.

Nor can I. I’m afraid I’m getting too excited and will be disappointed when it’s not perfect.

Dry to scab up is old, outdated thought. Keeping covered and moist speeds healing. Vaseline or Aquaphor. Wasn’t the Vaseline that irritated it, Vaseline is about as inert as you can get. Might have been reaction to tape or the surgical scrub they cleaned the skin with before the biopsy. Perhaps even the sutures but it wasn’t the Vaseline.

Here’s wound care information after biopsy from American Academy of Dermatology:

And yes, about this kind of stuff, doctors do know everything.
