Your "instant boner" actors/actresses in character

And believe me she is ALL woman.

Um, she’s not a rabbit.

Christina Hendricks as Saffron in Firefly. The character just oozes sexual seduction, and I also like that they de-emphasized Christina’s massive breasts (which are actually a turn-off for me).

Famke Janssen as Xenia Onatopp in Goldeneye. Guess I dig the femme fatales

Your ideas are intriguing to me and I wish to subscribe to your newsletter.

I know it was mentioned before, but having just watched it again over the weekend, Salma Hayek in From Dusk til Dawn, at least when she isn’t all demon-y, certainly fits the bill for me.

Having just watched the first season of “Newsroom,” I’ll just have to add Olivia Munn as Sloane, even though the entire concept of that character is a ridiculous cliche.

I’m having trouble thinking of any examples of women who I’m usually meh about but then there’s a role that is yowza. Not that there aren’t any, I just can’t think of any. Most of the hot women mentioned in this thread (at least the ones I like) it isn’t any particular role that delivers, I’d eat them up in all their roles.

I suppose an inverse of that is Jessica Alba. She’s spectacular, but I don’t care for her blonde. Something doesn’t look right. But yeah, sexy nation.

Yes, Gina Torres, not Rosario Dawson, but they were hot city. However, why the show didn’t succeed long term: (1) it was a unique creation not fitting any standard niche, where that station came out with a couple of 30 minute comedic adventure shows. They were in theme and style like Hercules and Xena, but only 30 minutes long. That didn’t bode well for the storytelling, which necessarily condensced down. None of those shows survived the experiment.* (2) It was cheesy as hell. With cheese sauce and a side of fried cheese sticks.

  • Another of the shows starred Bruce Campbell, about an early 19th century spy doing James Bondian derring do. I think there were 4 shows IIRC, though I’m having trouble remembering the details. Cleopatra 2525 is the most memorable, for reasons shown above.

Not that there’s anything wrong with that.

Good point. Shows like this need to take a regular light action show and then add in enough material for a sitcom. You can do that successfully in a sixty minute format but there’s not enough time in a thirty minute show.

Are my eyes playing tricks on me or does that look like they were photoshopped together into that pic?

The surprise for me was watching her in An Invisible Sign. She didn’t go full ugly but she definitely deglamorized herself for the part. And she also showed she can act.

Alba has always struck me as somewhat cranky about her looks. She loves acting and takes it seriously, but she’s young and gorgeous, so almost no one gives a damn if she can act. I read an interview (I think for “Into the Blue”) where someone went on about her looks and she snapped “Oh, who gives a shit?”

Charlize Theron is amazing everywhere, but most as the literal goddess in I Am Legend… Then there is Kate Beckinsale in Underworld and Total Recall. I’ll let them fight it out for top spot, in mud, within sight of my bunk.

You mean Hancock?

maybe. I didn’t do it.

Looks like a green screened background to me. I have a PS plug in for that

No, Charlize Theron in 2 Days in the Valley

I think she was her very hottest in “The Gopher” that weird, yet not awful Mel Gibson Jodie Foster thing. She plays Anton Yelchin’s High School crush, and does it very well. Very well.

It was a weird movie, no doubt. That’s why you don’t have a ton of people referencing it, few people saw it relatively.

Since she may well be one of our new leading ladies, someone go see this and provide input.

nitpick: “The Beaver”
