Your New Years Resolutions.

Alright, here we are at the beginning of another year. What changes are you going to make to your life? What promises to yourself to finally keep?

Mine, glad you asked:

Household:
1: Work within an operational financial budget that will help us continue to live beneath our means. ( Is that CEO-speak or what?)enabling us to save for a new car.

2: Start decorating the house room by room. Just a color scheme and getting rid of the clutter. ( see #3)

3: Streamline the house. ( Thin out things we haven’t used in years. Everything will go either to charity or resale shops.) The garage and tool area is not mine and I am not responsible.

Personal:

1: Have a healthy baby and breastfeed as long as I can. ( 6-10 months at least.)

2: Less TV ( still no cable and happy as a clam.)I only watch maybe an hour a night.

3: Get out of the house more (when weather permits) with the kids and dog. Maybe do play groups with other kids.

4: ( I do this already) Read at least 1 hour a day to my children.

5:Stop being so critical of other people. They can’t help it if they are retards.(and yes, I know, I’ve had my retarded moments too.) Just enjoy them for who they are.

6: Everytime I receive a new outfit for my daughter or son that still has the tags on it and I really a) don’t need or b) hate, I will take it back to the store it came from and get credit.( The grandma’s in their lives are compulsive shoppers of baby clothing, the waste of it all maddens me to no end.)

7:Swim at least two times a week and go for walks as often as possible with kids and dog.

8: Entertain. ( I have a fear of entertaining and I need to get over it.)

9: Get off the internet and work on project that have been lingering…

10: Learn to realize that my sister in law, in the grand spectrum in life, is harmless and useless. She is a good kind person who is exceptionally desperate to be well liked and received and this is her problem, not mine. I should stop picking hot button topics to upset her narrow minded vision of life.

11: Continue to write, if only for myself. It is my oasis in a world of mundania. (this I always do.)

I think I’ll borrow some of Shirley’s.

And I’ll try to be more conscious of how my words and actions affect others.

And not let the dishes sit in the sink for a week, even if I’m sick.

Quit smoking, again.

Finish that quilt.

Read more - 'net less.

  1. This year I will finish writing some short stories I’ve been working on and try to sell them. I will also give my book a dammed good shot.

That’s the major one.

I don’t have an evil side. Just a really, really apathetic one.

Well, I did it… I made a resolution even though I never do normally. This is my last post in SD. I’ve met many wonderful people here and enjoy some great new friendships, but alas… the time has come to carry on to new adventures. Thanks to the ones I’ve enjoyed spending time with in the chat, to those of you who post such great words to read, and most of all for the laughs I’ve had. There are many real people here who are truly wonderful, but like everywhere in life, there are also some that just arent real no matter what, you guys should try the “real” thing… its great!!

Happy New Year and all the best in 2000.

We are, each of us angels with only one wing, and we can only fly by embracing one another

Please tell me this doesn’t mean you’re leaving IRC and ICQ too!!

sniffle, sniffle Sue? Do ya have to go?

Well, my resolutions are:

  1. To clean the garage & yard by the end of January (yes, this is Texas)

  2. To go back to doing morning pages (a creative technique where you do a brain dump to paper every morning)

My resolution is to be more adventurous.

Sue… I understand the reason why, do what makes you comfortable hon. You know how to reach me and we will adventure thru other worlds. love ya!

I really try to be good but it just isn’t in my nature!

As every year I make the perfect resolution:

I hereby resolve to make no New Year’s resolutions.

It is a resolution that is broken by the very act of making it (thereby acknowledging my humanity that I cannot perfectly keep a resolution),
but it is, then, kept perfectly throughout the remaining year (thereby allowing me to actually keep a resolution).

Tom~

Cut down on my shopping habit. I had one last fling last Thursday (three outfits, shoes, and a sweater). Today is only Jan 1 and I didn’t go to the mall in spite of the sales. So far so good.

Cut my last vice - caffeine

Sue! Noooooooooooooooo! Please reconsider. Come into IRC at least!

Some drink at the fountain of knowledge…others just gargle.

Oh, and regarding the OP, I’ll try to develop a little patience this year. Doesn’t look too promising at the moment, though.

To figure out what resolution I want to make. Even if it takes a year!
