Look, I appreciate the utility of the text message. It’s great for sending short messages that don’t require a reply - like an address, or a telephone number, or a shopping list. Et cetera. And, at the same time, I can appreciate that you will often want to text somebody back, perhaps with a quick communication to the effect that you got the message, acknowledge, and are carrying it out. Rock and roll.
But for FUCK’S SAKE, people, never in my LIFE have I gotten into a ‘texting conversation’ that couldn’t be solved in half or one quarter the fucking time if you just picked up these CNY6000 cell phones and CALLED the bastard! If someone is texting you while you’re at dinner, stand up from the table, excuse yourself, call them, deal with it, and then come back. Abso-fucking-lutely inexcusable.
If you are sitting at a table with another human being, and you are sharing a meal with them, then it is absolutely the height of goddamn rudeness to disrupt your conversation with them so that you can converse with another person via telephone. Honest to FUCKING God. I may as well just pull out a paperback novel!
Totally agree about appropriating other peoples’ cultures. BTW you should really stop speaking and writing in English. Your Indian so should stop disrespecting your culture and speak and write in Indian-ish.
I used to think speaking English was cool but then I wisened up and did the right thing. I am an American not an Englishan so I now only speak and write in Americanese.

Whats even more fun is when you go over to someones house to visit and everyone is sitting around the living room and the husband, wife and child are all on their own cellphones diddling away while you sit there in silence staring at the tv. I don’t visit those people anymore.

I wouldn’t care if they learned the language in question. That shows respect. I respect English greatly and love the language.
My son and his wife got into the whole Japanese culture thing. They both have extensive tattoos that are Japanese in theme. My son has 3/4 sleeves and his back is completely covered, giving him a sort of Yakuza look. His wife has a large geisha on her shoulder and various other Japanese-themed inkings. They wear kimonos around the house and he actually posted a photo of them wearing the kimonos, with him holding a katana. :rolleyes:
I bite my tongue about the whole thing, as there is nothing that can ever be done about all the ink. They’ve made a few vacation trips to Japan, and at one point he was asked to stay away from the pool at a hotel because the tattoos were frightening the Japanese guests, who associate tattoos with criminals.
Other than that, ill-behaved children mean overly-permissive parents. There, I said it.

People who bitch about not having any money to pay the rent or utilities but have big screen TVs in every room of their house, the most expensive cable package, have the latest smart phone, drive gas guzzling cars/trucks, and go out to dining and drinking every weekend.

Men who complain to me about their wives or girlfriends are disgusting. Especially if we aren’t friends. Seriously, what possible good intention could an acquantaince or stranger have for badmouthing their partner to me? It used to happen far too frequently.
People who home-school their kids are complete nuts in one way or another, and people who send their kids to private schools think they’re better than everyone else.
Which is not only not always true, but if I had children, I’d probably choose one of those options over public schools, too!

I’m not sure exactly what judgment I make but it’s not a positive one for people who go shopping wearing pajama bottoms. I try not to judge people too much on how they dress, as I’m a fairly informal and casual person myself, but I draw the line at wearing sleepwear in public. Makes me want to go out shopping in a robe and boxers with a mug of coffee just to see what happens.
People who don’t stand up for their own spouse are bad husbands/wives. My friend’s in-laws treat him like shit and his wife does nothing. Apparently the wife is a pushover to her family so that makes it okay. I think it makes her a lousy and selfish wife.
People who don’t own up to being lazy or selfish. They have to have some stupid excuse. I would rather someone straight up admit “I was too lazy to do it” rather than BS me with “I didn’t have time/I didnt know how/I’m not good at it” type excuses.
My arguement against homeschooling is the lack of training required on the parent’s part to homeschool. I’m not a certified professional teacher; what makes me think I could reliably teach my own kid K-12? I could no more homeschool than I could teach someone to fly an airplane or play a saxophone
