I’m more offended that she’s an elected official who thinks Africa’s a country, North and South Korea are one in the same (isn’t South Korea, like, super Westernized? It’s almost like they’re saying to the north “See? This is what YOU could have!”) and not have any fucking idea of how government works. Her schoolyard analogy is dwarfed by the offensiveness of the rest.

I, too, would like cites if you could provide them. Part of my brain is hoping you’re wrong.

I believe the source is the book “Game Change”, and those things are cited in this NYT article. It’s really not accurate to say that she didn’t know NK and SK were different countries. Sounds like she didn’t know how they ended up being different countries. But this book is somewhat controversial for its use of unnamed sources.

In the days leading up to an interview with ABC News’ Charlie Gibson, aides were worried with Ms. Palin’s grasp of facts. She couldn’t explain why North and South Korea were separate nations and she did not know what the Federal Reserve did. She also said she believed Saddam Hussein attacked the United States on Sept. 11, 2001.
