Reading this thread that asks for party music gave me an idea.
For people wanting to expand their musical listening base, pick a genre of music and list the top 5 songs (or 10, or whatever) that would best sell that genre. This isn’t a contest in obscurity, and the genres can be as detailed as you like (punk, reggae, house, cumbia, drum and bass, Icelandic whaling music, etc.).
Basically, what songs will make someone go “wow!” for a genre which they are unfamiliar.
That’s the most times I’ve used the word “genre” in my life.
