What the hell is going on when that happens? Sometimes at just the moment a huge sneeze is about to come blasting out of the ol’ schnozzola blip it’s gone. Why does that happen sometimes?

My wife saw a sneeze building up and got the jump on it by shouting, “God bless”. It KILLED the sneeze. Stopped it dead. The second time she did it I forbided her to bless me ever again.
Didn’t work, she still does, but is trying to wait for the sneeze now.
The inhalation knocks loose the particulate that is causing the urge to sneeze, therefore the urge disappears. You inhale harder the closer you are, too, so it’s more likely to get knocked off, I reckon.
At least, that’s what was mentioned last time I saw this topic on the boards several years ago…and it sounds perfectly reasonable.
