Youtube now has Vuvuzela button

Love football? Can’t get enough of that lovely vuvuzela sound?

  • No problem. Youtube has added a vuvuzela button so you can spice up any and all of the regular boring videos with some fanatically loud horn blowing!

Find cricket boring? - Try it with the vuvuzela on.
Luv kittehs? Show your appreciation with the vuvuzela!
etc.

Yay. Deafness for all!

Eta: To clarify: Press the football-shaped button next to the video options buttons to turn crazy football fans on and off.

Boo! I’m not seeing it!
hits cowbell

It doesn’t show up on all videos for me. I haven’t figured out why or even what to do to make it appear.

Perhaps I’m dreaming all of this and the vuvuzela button doesn’t really exist.

Yes, the vuvuzela button exists. I’ve seen it. Don’t worry, Panurge, you’re not dreaming.

You can also go to this website and add a person blowing a vuvuzela to any webpage! Example:

The Straight Dope - now with vuvuzela (warning: vuvuzela blowing sound will play)

I can’t explain why this cracks me up so much, but it does. I just laughed hysterically at the kitteh w/vuvuzela.

I love how it apparently ignores the Volume settings.

We live in a silly, silly world.

The Straight Dope has had that feature for years- It’s called “Great Debates”.

It’s absolutely fascinating what gets picked up as internet memes. You could write a doctoral thesis on it.

For the Americans, look for a soccer ball, not a football.

Certification exam prep is greatly enhanced by vuvuzelification.

Just go to your favourite youtube clip and press the "soccer shaped " button

My wife just nearly divorced me when I vuvuzelaed the Beatles.
It was worth it.

I don’t see it.

ETA: Ah, it only works on some videos, such as this one:

(Soccer ball in bottom-right corner of video)

That’s what that is. I was going to ask about that here last night, but I forgot. I thought something was going horribly wrong with some sort of foreign language feed. It sounds like my speaker when I’ve had connection problems, or the video feed being converted to audio.

No wonder soccer/football fans are so annoyed by it. Is it that loud at the games?

I supposed this is as good a thread as any to call your attention to this video, which has been making the rounds on the internet.

I’ll be impressed when they invent a button to filter the damn things out.

Already a thread on it here - Youtube now has Vuvuzela button - Miscellaneous and Personal Stuff I Must Share - Straight Dope Message Board

A-MEN! That’s funny! Sometimes that forum is exactly just that.
