Opinions? I don’t think this an April’s fool’s joke - everything looks pretty real and sensible. Except for one big blunder: getting rid of the star ratings! Moving from 5 stars to just a thumbs up/down system because “anything other than a 1- or 5-star rating is rarely used on YouTube” is a big mistake, in my opinion. (Or am I being whooshed?)
Though rearranging some things to put them in more logical and streamlined locations is good, they’ve also managed to remove good things.
The lack of borders and boxes is, in my opinion, ugly instead of cleaner. I use the Quicklist a lot, and that’s been moved to a new location, two clicks deep, where new users will never find it. And the lightbulb thingy that turns the background black, to make video viewing less dazzling, was a decent idea that should be retained.
Seems to be real, judging from the several hundred articles about it.
Just that stupid logo faded out logo should have been enough to get rid of it.
It just looks clunky, and adds almost no functionality.
Here’s my rant thread about this – started March 18, by the way, and it had been rolling out bits and pieces before then, too. Hate it.
