YouTube world web cam channels

I have become mesmerized by live YouTube channels that show web cams from around the world. There are lots of them, but my current favorite is “Beautiful Earth”

There are 80 locations on this one, and the picture cycles through them over and over with some quiet, jazzy music in the background. I leave it on my TV when I’m reading or on my computer (like now). Beach in Thailand, bar in the Virgin Islands, downtown Odessa (Ukraine), volcanic eruption in Spain, busy intersection in Tokyo, street in Korea (EVERYONE masked!), critter cam in Denmark, narrow boats on a canal in Scotland, as well as St. Petersburg, Stockholm, New York City, Boston, Las Vegas, Jackson Hole, Wyoming, Santa Monica Pier, a village in the Czech Republic… Urban settings, countryside, beaches, rain, snow, dawn, dusk, night, and broad daylight. Trains, crowded highways, sailboats, bridges. Every now and then, there will be pictures from the International Space Station.

If I can’t sleep, I’ll put it on and it’s better than any sleeping pill. If you’re in a funky mood, it can help put things in perspective. All those people and places! :astonished: And such natural beauty, too. I’ve tried some other channels, but I’ve gotten so familiar with these locations, I feel like I’m checking up on places I kind of know. I want to see what they look like at different times of the day.

Thanks for the recommendation! That looks like a great channel.

:slightly_smiling_face: Thanks for not letting my thread die a lonely death.

These are cool. It is great background.

I’ve gotten attached to some of the locations at this particular channel. I want to see who’s at that bar in St. John’s/VI. And how busy is that intersection in Odessa right now? And that street in Korea, the critter cam, the volcano in Spain, Santa’s Village in Lapland (yup, that’s a real place). The beach in Florida, the one in Maui, and the one in Thailand. Venice in the middle of the night … not a soul in sight. Snowing in Alberta.

They’ve added a few more locations.

I would have really enjoyed this back in my drinking days. I like it now, too.
