A nation that has to a large degree a foundation based on classic liberal principles needs the support of the citizenry for said classic liberal principles. This is brings to mind the piling on of Idle Thoughts in the thread in which he admitted to not voting nor caring to. It’s one’s civic duty to promote liberty and to participate in necessary roles such as voting and jury duty.
Not condemning violence employed against people merely exercising fundamental rights weakens the fundamental protections for everyone. Now one isn’t obligated to speak or to act but to pretend that it has no impact is dishonest.
Otherwise you are just a free loader. Benefiting from the work that others do in order to have a worthwhile society.
