Anyone seen this movie?
I enjoyed it but I’m not sure I understand it. Was he blind? And what’s with the dance number at the end?
Very funny, very gory. With fake CGI blood.
I loved the Japanese accented dubbing.
Dance number was the best part - JAZZ HANDS!
You just had to love the screaming guy with the spear.
The new one with Beat Takeshi? I don’t remember any dance scene… now I’ll have to go back and watch it again.
This movie is from 2003.
Zatoichi is an iconic character. He’s always been a blind swordsman wandering around doing good and kicking ass. The movie is a reinterpretation of the basic premise. It’s like making Batman black and his parents killed by racist rednecks (see Supreme Power).
Yeah, that’s the one. They really funk out at the end.
