This is sort of an update to the “My little boy got really sick” thread that I posted on the temp board. For those of you who didn’t read it over there, my son (seven weeks old now, four weeks old when we took him to the hospital) was recently hospitalized for quite some time as a result of a respiratory infection (RSV) that went horribly awry and wound up giving him antibiotic-resistant bacterial pneumonia, complete with a pneumothorax, aka “hole in the lung”. After countless chest X-rays, a chest drainage tube, and more days in the hospital than I care to remember, we are finally home!
Zeke is still on antibiotics through an IV, which is sort of annoying as we have to administer them through an infusion pump three times a day, but anything is better than still being in the hospital.
Here’s a link to visit for pictures (adorable, of course) and further updates.
I’d also like to thank everyone over on the other thread who offered advice, encouragement, and support. I still can’t believe our little boy is actually home again!
