SingleDad, whatever. I’m not here to be called names and be the object of contempt. When the conversation disintegrates this much, it belongs in the Pit, IMHO. So take it to the Pit, but don’t hold your breath for me to show up there.
Flinx: I have not called you any names. If you express ridiculous, contemptible views, you cannot complain that I ridicule those views and hold them in contempt. If you want to generalize my contempt from your views to yourself, you are free to do so.
If I wish to draw abstract conclusions from a set of behaviors and ideas to the moral character of a hypothetical person, that’s not a personal attack. That you have expressed views identical to the ones I’m using to draw my conclusions is irrelevant to my argument. But, as I have said so many times, if the shoe fits…
I have scrupulously followed the rules of this forum. I have expressed my response to your ideas and views. I have not directly attacked you personally. I have done nothing different by calling oppresive self-righteousness evil and contemptible than you have in calling homosexuality sinful and harmful.
Anyone is free to post self-righteous, evil and contemptuous views. And I am free to call those views self-righteous, evil and contemptous, and offer evidence that my analysis is correct. Freedom does not protect you from scorn, nor does it oblige me to respect your ideas or give them an equal weight to my own.
Wow, i guess it’s hurting my older brother and his fiancee then? I guess that’s why she’s the happiest she’s ever been, and that’s why they are set to marry? I guess it’s hurting me that they are having sex and it’s hurting my parents? Do you know me? Do you know my family? Do you know my brother and his fiancee? Unless you know all about us, dont make judgements that you can’t back up.
