Here’s a weird medical one - I occasionally get small bumps on the edge of my eyelids that are filled with a whitish fluid. They don’t really hurt, but sometimes it feels like there is something in my eye. Usually, gentle pressure around them will evacuate them and they’ll go away.
I’ve heard that the small yellow waxy-looking globs on the edge of your eyelids (anyone get these?) can be a sign of high cholesterol. However, I used to get them, but my cholesterol is fine.
I get bumps on the inner rim of my eyelids (generally where I can see them, but sometimes up under the eyelid or in the corner) but they are white on the outside, hard to the touch, and when broken produce clear liquid. Anyone have any info on that, while we’re at it? They bother me because it’s quite painful. I never seem to have one when I can get to my doctor, though!
I’ve been getting them very frequently lately and it’s driving me crazy.
I got those once. My wifes dad is a doctor and said it was a stye and not to screw around w/it because sqeezing them could actually cause a serious infection in my eye. he gave me some kind of cream to apply to my eyelid and that helped.
Go see a doctor. These bumps could be zits, some sort of yeast or baterial blockage, styes, cysts, or skin cancer. Or something else that slips my mind at the moment.
And stop poking at your eyes! Don’t pick and poke!
I know I shouldn’t, and thank you for caring enough to say so. (Yes, I mean that!)
I think the reason I have been getting more is that I do break them open. (Gosh, is this gross or what?) But I do a lot of reading at work and it’s painful to move my eye when I have one. It’s like having a piece of sand stuck firmly and scratching your eye.
I know my doctor won’t be much help unless I happen to have one while I’m there, but I’ll be calling in for an appointment this week anyway. You guys have kinda scared me a bit with talk of infection, cysts and cancers. (But I’m not complaining. Thank you for the motivation.)

Have you been doing anything freaky in the past (though I know you haven’t))? I’ve a friend with this same kind of affliction and when she finally started trying to remember any and all things that could be doing it she began to remember that earlier she’d been a bad girl (being with a number of men) and other things and she realized what it was and now takes the correct medication. The thing about these kinds of symptoms is they sometimes mimic those of conditions other than what they are. That’s what makes this so tricky. Good luck.
