zodiac signs

I have been looking on the net for descriptions about what traits each zodiac sign comprises. I understand that Scorpio is the sexy sign, Libra is balanced, and Taurus is bull headed, but what about the other signs?

Does anyone know of a great site where I can read about the different signs? Everything I found is about compatibility with my mate!

Thanks for any help you can be.

Pisces are supposed to be terminally wishy-washy, sensitive, and romantic to the point of incapacitation. (Personal experience as a Pisces: It’s awfully close…)

Leos are egotistical and blind to their own shortcomings, bossy as hell, and all-around general terrors. Personal experience (my mother): about half-right.

Well, I have to say that any site of that sort will give you the “information” you need, so I won’t bother with that. Instead, I recommend that you check this out. It’s not what you asked for, but my New Year’s resolution is to be far less tolerant of anything new-age, mystical, or pseudoscientific. Sorry if this doesn’t interest you, but here you go anyways. Hope you like it.

I’ll agree with Stupendous man. (How can you not with a name like that?)

But I’m sure if you typed ‘astrology’ into any search engine, you’ll probably get 100,000 hits with the ‘info’ you wanted.

But this is the Straight Dope Message Boards & astrology isn’t promoted here (although you could probably start a discussion of its origins & implications in historical/modern-day society  ).

From everything I’ve read about Sagittarians, I’m supposed to be a loner. Yeah, like I need some dumb jerk’s opinion of who I’m supposed to be? Go to hell. People suck.

Regardless of what anyone believes, or doesn’t believe, the OP has not been answered directly. HOW RUDE! People say Christianity is hogwash, too, but if someone had asked for information about it, there would have been answers with cites and sites. Why is this any different? Why can’t someone answer the question rather than casting judgement?

In answer to the OP… try looking at http://www.astrology.com for one. Also try Yahoo! Astrology Click on the links for the various signs and at the bottom of eacy horoscope for the day, it will give links for character traits and such.

This is going to be low-tech:

Check out the book Secrets from a Stargazer’s Notebook. It’s a great book for interpreting charts. It includes good information on each Sun sign, how each planet reacts while in various signs and how the various houses affect your chart.

To cast your own chart, just pick up one of the many programs available on the 'Net. Good luck

I’m not wishy-washy! Well, maybe I am… no I’m not! Wait, yes I am.

Anyone else get the feeling this thread is about to degenerate into a lot of really stupid jokes? (except for my one, it was classy)

Well, gator’s are supposed to be really inquisitive…

Yep, like I said, try a search engine. But the point is, since astrology not based on reality, there is no correct answer. You may get different answers on what a Pisces or a Scorpio is supposed to be like based on what astrologer you ask.

The link for Yahoo Astrology does NOT point to a search engine, but straight to info that answers the OP. Although Yahoo does have a useful search engine, links to the Yahoo site do not necessarily mean a search. Obviously, you jumped to conclusions rather than following the link to see.

Additionally, for some people, astrology, like any other set of beliefs may be very real. On the other hand, the OP may agree with you but be doing research for another purpose. I don’t believe it, myself, but get a chuckle out of checking my horoscope occasionally.

My problem with the whole situation was that there were no answers to the OP, just vague references like “use a search engine” or “It’s not what you asked for, but my New Year’s resolution is to be far less tolerant of anything new-age, mystical, or pseudoscientific.”

Just because you don’t believe in it doesn’t mean you can’t answer the question. Why not just answer the question, or if you don’t have an answer, move on?

Am I posting in invisible ink or something?

No…you actually posted an answer to the question at hand. I am sorry if my tirade appeard to be directed at you, it was not. I was directing my response to Phobos and Stupendous man.

Phobos and Stupendous man, I am sorry to be on such a tirade, and I agree that Astrology can be inane, IMO, but the OP was not asking whether Astrology was legitimate, but where to find information about it. I will step down from my soapbox now.
