How’s that not joining in on Fenris’ hijack working out for you?
How are we supposed to tell the difference? All you dicks and assholes are jabbering so much that you make poo flinging zoo monkeys look like they are holding a legitimate protest on conditions of incarceration by comparison.
Czar, I’m certainly not one to back Fenris in anything but you’re coming off as performing the Internet equivalent of “I’m not touching you! I’m not touching you” then demanding cites for “not touching”.
I don’t know about threadshitting, but I don’t buy it because of your history of both anti-religious and provocative posts. People will tell you that such posts bothered them, and you don’t seem to care. They tell you why a certain style of post goes off badly, but you continue to make them. Example threads where you do this have already been brought up.
You have a history of making posts that people find inflammatory but are still technically within the rules. The ATMB posts about your conduct have all been about that sort of thing. You had to specifically be asked by a mod not to post in an ATMB thread about you so that you wouldn’t make things worse by your inflammatory posts.
If you were trying to talk about God in fictional works, I think you would have clarified that was your purpose. Instead, you kept it deliberately ambiguous so you could claim it was about God as being fictional if asked. Such walking the line is exactly your style.
Maybe I’m wrong, and this is all innocent. I know from experience how easy it is to come off wrongly. But that doesn’t matter. People’s perceptions of your posting history, whether accurate or not, inform how they interpret what you say.
You may disagree that you threadshit or deliberately antagonize religious people. But that ultimately doesn’t matter, because people think you do, and those are the people who you want to stop bugging you. You can keep posting the same way and whine about how unfair it is, or you can do something about it.
If people have this idea about what you mean, and that’s not what you intend to communicate, anticipate it by letting them know that’s not what you mean. People have this idea about me, too, that I don’t think is accurate. And I know from experience that arguing with them about it won’t change anyone’s mind. Instead, I just am careful to avoid any of the negative implications that people ascribe to me.
I may not be the most liked poster here by a long shot, but I also don’t get people complaining about me much anymore, either. I’ve at least graduated from asshole to asshole no one cares to bitch about.
Pretty much.
And if everyone else is misunderstanding your words, the problem isn’t on our end.
Just saw this today but I gotta say : good post BigT - in more ways than one.
I second that it was a good post, but I would limit the ways in which it was good to one. Let’s not flirt with hyperbole.
