The liger already exists. And there was a wholphin (whale+dolphin) last month.

Ligers = male lion x female tiger
Tigon = male tiger x female lion
So
Zonkey = male zebra x female donkey
debra = male donkey x female zebra
A foal was born last year in California to a female zebra who had been impregnated by a jackass. The offspring was called a zonkey, so that term seems applicable in the Barbados case as well. Had the sire been a zebra and the dam a jenny (female donkey), the foal would have been a zedonk. Also, any zebra-donkey offspring can be termed a zebrass. At least that’s one version of the truth – various sites define these terms in various ways, and introduce other linguistic hybrids to the mix.
