Well, I tried, but...

...It all went horribly wrong!

When I moved to Birmingham in October to start my PhD, I thought that I'd at least try and change slightly. This included not drinking so much cafetiere coffee, and not becoming the cause of someone's infamy, or becoming infamous myself.

Well, guess what, I failled on these two accounts. I'm sat here, about to begin reading a few papers, with a large pot of cafetiere coffee by my side. I've realised that I can't actually do good work without good coffee.

And as for the second part, well, one of the lecturers here is beginning to wish that he didn't have spaghetti arms and that all his postgrad students didn't see him trying to hit on me (in front of my SO!) at the Christmas party. Still we're all getting some laughs out of that one, and winding him up incessantly about it, :wally that he is!

So, Dopers, anything you swore you'd change about yourselves, but couldn't?

Anyway, I've been trying to give up beer for over 40 years but, well, I can't. (Doesn't make me a BAD person though)

I think the rest of the world calls cafetiere French press, not sure though.

Well, I decided I should stop eating when I'm no longer hungry (as opposed to continuing to eat until painfully bloated). Sort of mixed success so far (food is just so *good*), so we'll have to see about the `just couldn't'...

Oh, and I used to give up coffee for a few weeks a year, but haven't done that for a few years now. Last time I tried it didn't go so swimmingly...
