This website is either the funniest website I’ve ever seen - if it is a hoax it is a very good one. Yet it is disturbing to think that this website might be for real. Your opinions?

Doesn’t look like a hoax, based on going to the parent site Objective: Christian Ministries - though I agree with your assessment.
I especially enjoyed the “High School Level” winner, wherein the power of prayer is “proven” to be effective in guiding evolution in bacteria. Uh, how does this support Creation Science? Seems like they’ve shown that muttering (praying) over one dish causes the bacteria to evolve differently than those in the un-muttered dish. If anything, they’re supporting evolution.
Like every other Creationist Science website I’ve ever seen, it fails miserably when just a little critical thinking is applied.
But it is damn funny!
Yep, it’s a hoax, but a funny one. See the links to Landover Baptist etc?
Elsewhere on the site:
“Creation Science Facts
Q - Were Neanderthals the “monkey men” Evolutionists keep talking about?
A - No! Neanderthals were humans with abnormal bone growth due to very advanced age and Flood-cloud-related rickets!”
Yes, there was a previous thread in which it was determiend to be a hoax.
Funny if it’s fake…
**very ** scary if it is real!
But I doubt it… 2nd place at the middle-school level- Women Were Designed for Homemaking? From a middle-schooler, that one sounds too bad to be true.
And the 1st pace elementary school… My Uncle Isn’t A Monkey! Ha… well that’s all the scientific proof *I * need!
But if it is a hoax, this guy followed through… the links seem alright.
Ah, except that the link to Landover Baptist is to a page on their own site: Landover Baptist is a fraud. They’re “debunking” the Landover Baptist site.
I think they’re serious.
CyberHippy , the page denouncing Landover Baptist is, like everythign else on the site, a hoax.
I twigged when I followed the link under “Hopziah the Kanga-Jew” to the explanation of how kangaroos were once native to the Middle East and were mistaken for satyrs by “wine-addled…Dionysian cultists”.
It has to be a hoax.
That site is a hoax. But this one is real.
You can’t help but love some of the suggested topics.
That could be the Pit thread I opened several months ago, the final veredict IIRC, was that the site was a monumental WOOOSHHHH!!!
I´m still trying to comb my hair again into shape.
I can not believe someone put that much effort into filling out every last little corner of the website. I also agree that is has to be a hoax, but many of the sites it links to seem to be quite real…
Yikes.
It is indeed a fine hoax that must have been a lot of work.
If I had made such a thing, I would be very proud.
Heh, found your thread, which referenced another thread, which had links to a site debunking this sucker.
For future readers:
Ale’s Thread refers to This thread which, near the bottom, refers to This site (but they don’t mention the site anymore - mabye I’m blind?) and This site which is the only thorough debunking I could find, by a Christian Mac-user.
After reading those threads, and the site above, I’m leaning more toward the hoax interpretation. A damn good one, if that, and I’m damn proud to have been whooshed so well…
Check out the HTML source code where it has email addresses… one is juno which would tip me off that it could be a hoax but some of the people have email addresses like youthpastor.com, praize.com, baptistmail.com, jesus-army.com, etc.
Some people have too much time on their hands
QUOTE:
2nd Place: “Women Were Designed For Homemaking”
Jonathan Goode (grade 7) applied findings from many fields of science to support his conclusion that God designed women for homemaking: physics shows that women have a lower center of gravity than men, making them more suited to carrying groceries and laundry baskets; biology shows that women were designed to carry un-born babies in their wombs and to feed born babies milk, making them the natural choice for child rearing; social sciences show that the wages for women workers are lower than for normal workers, meaning that they are unable to work as well and thus earn equal pay; and exegetics shows that God created Eve as a companion for Adam, not as a co-worker.
/Marge Simpson/ I can’t begin to tell you what’s wrong with that statement.
I just checked out that website and it’s making me a bit ill to tell the truth.
WTF?
Since when was America charged as the owners of the internet?
Shoot, now I feel foolish…I just rechecked that link.
Disregard my last post-I’ve been…tired…all day…
Yeah, Landover has made several of these “Landover is evil and needs to be stopped!” satire sites, which is, in my opinion, hilarious and brilliant. That creation science fair cracks me up every time.
I just stumbled into this website that really cracks me up :^)
How To Think Like A Fundy
http://www.abarnett.demon.co.uk/atheism/fundy.html
After reading it, there is a Back button at the bottom of the webpage that takes you to their homepage which has some other hilarious stuff.
Enjoy - I did!
Funniest thing is that some creationists think that science fair site is for real…
