Are Males' Orgasms Greater than Females?

Don’t know if this is a GQ or GD or BBQ Pit, but is there a consensus on who has a “greater” or “bigger” orgasm? Or are they fundamentally different? =D

Um, since nobody on this planet has had both kinds I’d say this question has no answer.

You sure about that mate? =D

Calling all transgendered dopers!

There you go! =D

Hardly a reliable cite for GQ, but according to Greek mythology, Tiresias, who would have to be the patron saint of transgendered folks, said that it was women – and he was speaking from experience.

Danm! you beat me to it!

Correct me if I’m wrong but Sex reassignment surgery doesn’t perfectly duplicate the sexual function of human genitalia. So comparing orgasms would work since a post-operative transexual’s orgasm (is it even possible?) would not feel the a that of someone born with that sex.

Obviously. =D

Then did you have an actual point you were trying to make with your comment? I studied under Dr. John Money, sex and gender guru at Johns Hopkins, and could probably make some sort of actual GQ style reply to your question. But it hardly seems worthwhile.

Hmm, that is a perculiar response. My OP seems to be pretty clear. I did not “have an actual point” I was trying to make in same. If you are referring to my “obviously” rejoinder, I was stating that it is obvious that no male/female will ever be able to experience what a female/male does during orgasm, despite gender reassignment. Hope that clears it up for ya. =D

Clear as mud. When the valid point is raised that since noone has had both kind of orgasms, you imply doubt about it, invoking gender reassignment. Then you go on to say that it is obvious that gender reassignment does not allow one to experience both kinds of orgasm.

Ahh, no. Please reread OP mate. =D

The master speaks.

It depends on the person in question, but overall, I’d have to go with Cecil since the ‘research’ I’ve done supports his findings.

I’m with Tiresias on this - also from experience.

Cecil mentioned multiple orgasms and status orgasmus - sustained orgasms. I’ve heard that M to F transsexuals don’t have the same “drained” feeling after orgasm as they did pre-op, presumably because whatever hormone causes that state is produced by the bits that are removed. Does sex reassignment surgery also affect multiple/sustained orgasms?

I’m sure John-Joan would have something to say on Money’s grip on human sexuality. No offense to you.

I didn’t claim the man’s perfect. Far from it. I found him quite odd. But despite his (more and more apparently incorrect) claim that gender identity was a result of nurture rather than nature, he did have a wealth of data on sexuality. And he was also quite an advocate for rights for the transgendered, especially the right to sex reassignment surgery.

I told you not to mess with those snakes!

IIRC, the clitoris has about twice as many nerve endings as the glans penis, so I’m gonna go with the women on this one.
