I am from the Louisiana-East Texas area and I live in the Boston area now. It doesn’t seem all that cold to me. Being close to the ocean means that it doesn’t get Minnesota cold. Brutally cold days below 20 F are pretty uncommon too. My major complaint is that it just takes so long to really warm up in the spring. My biggest snow storm here was on April 1st (something like 30 inches) and that is just plain unaccepatble to me. Now, if you go north a little way into New Hampshire and Vermont, then it gets truly frigid. It is supposed to be above 50 F on New Year’s Day.
