WooHoo! I'm renewing like a Mother-Fuck!

Have you renewed your SDMB membership yet? After deep consideration, weighing all the options (yeah, right) I clicked on “subscribe” and forked over my $7.48 to those bean-counters at the Chi Reader for another year of fun, frivolity and philosophy.

Such a feeling came over me…wait, it’s gone. Whew! What a relief!

Have you renewed your membership today?

I don’t know if I can. My membership expires in September and I’m not sure if I’ll have a credit card by that point. :frowning:

i got 2 years worth, so i’m good till 06!

I renewed today to show my support for TUBADIVA.

Unclviny

I was so inspired, but being a newbie, had nothing here to renew. Thankfully, in today’s mail, came an offer to renew my Sam’s Club membership. Although I haven’t bulk bought in a couple years, I joined the renewal bandwagon, and did the deed.

My subscription expires on April 28th. Has it really been that long? So many memories… so many strange fluids gushing out of patients’ bodies…

4/28/05 is the expiration. On that page it says

“Other cool stuff that we throw in later, possibly including private messaging, SDMB calendar, custom signatures, and “who’s online” feature”

Have any of these materialized?

We’ve had signatures for years and everyone’s given the option of listing email and IM contacts to their profile for easy access.

As for me, I’ll renew when the date draws near.

You might be able to renew now, and it will extend the membership time from the current exp date. Try it.

Mine was set to expire on 4/28/04, more than 2 months from today, and I was able to renew for a year.

What the hell – blow it all now with no thought towards the morrow!

4/28 is my deadline as well. I’ll probably renew it… What else will I do at work?

But…but… $7.48! That’s a pack of smokes, or a 12 pack of Blue Ribbon! Hmmm… have to think about it.

I believe what Astro is referring to by “Private Messaging” is the ability to send someone a message from within the SDMB, which is a great deal more convenient than having to log on to an outside instant messaging service, if a member even uses one.

On more than one occasion, I have found myself wanting to ask a member something, only I didn’t use the same IM program they did (or they didn’t use one at all), and didn’t want to e-mail them outright for fear it would be deleted or end up in their junk mail folder. Having the Private Message feature would allow members to correspond more readily, and I feel it would foster more of a sense of community within the SDMB. I’ve been on other boards that utilize it, an

According to my rough calcs, at the average rate you post, astro, your cost per post is .3 cents. And compared to a smoke-pack or a six-pack, it lasts longer. I know one must have one’s priorities, but such a deal!

Look, I don’t like having to repeat myself, okay?

(Sorry, my bad. The hamsters slowed to a crawl and I didn’t think they’d make it.)

I reckon I’ll pay up at the end of April. Mainly 'cause I want to see if there are any nag screens or not.

I renewed today, also in support of TubaDiva.

Thank you for suggesting it, Musicat.

 Nag screens! Nag screens? What do horses have to do with this, pony-face? Why I oughta put my hoof down! Horses have rights, too! Where do you get off calling…what? What?

Oh. That’s different.

Never mind.

I accidentally paid twice last year, so they gave me two years. So, technically, I was the first person to ever renew.

Neener neener.

Wow…CONGRATULATIONS RickJAY!!!

And count me in, too. Renewed by subscription to demonstrate my faith in Jenny and the rest of the staff of this board.
