Title sort of tells it all…Bess Eaton donut shops have gone tits up in this end of connecticut and been replaced by tim hortons…aren’t we a bit far from Canada though?
So, all the displaced canadians can suffer as I can get tim hortons here…<evil grin>
Not that I actually eat doughnuts, being diabetic and poor, so I dont get takeout anything=) But I could if I had the money=)
I personally don’t get Tim Horton’s. It could be because I’m from the west, I think it’s a bigger deal in the east. It’s a doughnut shop with average coffee. What’s the fascination?
I had my first Tim Horton’s experience about a month ago in Meriden CT, where they opened three months ago or so.
Their coffee is as good as Dunkin Donuts. The donuts are very good and they make a custard-filled with maple frosting that is tooth-crackingly sweet (and delicious.)
Connecticut is much closer than Ohio. This pleases me. One of our MADs has nefarious plans to open a Tim’s in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, and have me run it. That’s doable.
I saw the Tim Horton’s in Norwich a few weeks ago and promptly kicked myself for having moved away from there. To be honest, I think they waited until I left…
They ought to open a Tim Horton’s in South Florida, just for all the Canadian “snowbirds” that vacation down there in the winter. From what I’ve heard, we’ll take a Mr. Sub and a Pizza Pizza down there too, eh?
