There’s a “family fun fair” in my town today, which meant that families in their big SUVs were lumbering through small, one-way streets looking for parking. One driver, thinking he saw a car about ready to pull out, simply stopped in the middle of the street for (I timed it) two minutes, until he figured out that the couple who were strapping their baby into a stroller were actually getting out of the car, not getting in. Made me late, it did.

Probably dinner last night. We went to a restaurant that serves home-style firehouse-type food. I had grilled asparagus for an appetizer and vegetarian chili for dinner. The only downside was that my friend wanted apple martinis, so I had two of those as well. Wine would have been better, but I can’t do a bottle by myself and still be vertical.

Sand.

I appreciate it, particularly if both of us are smiling.

Respect them. I’m related to several, mostly Los Angeles Police Department, but my family has a long tradition of being in law enforcement. They do a thankless job, but the vast majority of them are good people trying to make our lives safer.

If a dog were to bark in the morning, it would disturb me. But it hasn’t happened lately. When a dog barks late at night, while I’m trying to sleep, I do get annoyed. I’ve been known to call the police (using the non-emergency number, of course), and since I live in a small town, they come out and quiet the dog. This may also explain my answer to number 11.
