OK, I’m in before this gets too long.
[ol]
[li] Are you proactive or reactive?[/li]Definitely proactive. I dislike sitting and waiting for things to happen.
[li] Are you a morning person or a night owl?[/li]A morning person all the way. I can stay up late given the right company and the right circumstances, but if it’s after 7:00 am and I haven’t woken up yet, I’m probably sick or dead.
[li] Are you a pessimist or an optimist?[/li]An optimist, for the most part, with periods of intense pessimism.
[li] Left or Right brained?[/li]As far as I can tell, when you figure I’m a translator turned programmer, I’m pretty much balanced between both of them.
[li] Cafe Society or General Questions? Cafe Society?[/li]Cafe Society. In General Questions, someone has inevitably beaten me to the answer.
[li] Describe your bad side.[/li]Believe it or not, I do have a harsh, nasty, judgemental, intolerant side. I’m also a bit too good at holding grudges for my taste.
[li] What would be your dream occupation?[/li]Being a pure programmer making enough money for me to take time off when I want and travel when I want. I’m a good coder, and I like seeing something I’ve built run and run well, whether it’s a user interface which is so easy to use it feels intuitive or a beautiful, elegant piece of logic without a single unneccesary bit of code.
[li] What do you regret?[/li]Eleven years ago, as I think a lot of you know, I was hospitalized three times for clinical depression. The man I was engaged to at the time stood by me. As I put it, I went through hell, and he came along for the ride. I don’t regret being hospitalized – it had to be done – but I do regret what he went through for me, even though it was his choice. He told me that the first time I was hospitalized, when I was nearly catatonic, he looked into my eyes and saw no soul there. If I could undo one thing, that would be it.
[li] TOS or TNG? (Will this push the thread off the rails?) [/li]TOS, although I haven’t followed the series in years.
Now mine:
[li]What’s your dream vacation?[/li]At this point, I’d say travelling the world, seeing all the things I’ve always wanted to see and revisiting places I’ve lived and loved, including England, Hawaii and Japan. It would also include a chance to meet the people I’ve come to know so well at this message board.[/ol]
