Adobe Premiere--missing photos in a slideshow

My SO and I have been working on a slideshow of pictures for his younger sister's graduation party. We're putting it together in Adobe Premiere 6.0 in Windows XP Professional, and have run into some problems. The slideshow is supposed to display about 220 photos, 5 seconds each, with the same transition in between each picture (except the first and last). We've tried rendering it, to .AVI format, with the DIVX and the default codec.

The problem is, both times, we've run into the same problems--some photos won't show up in the finished result, just a black screen. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or rhythm to it, since sometimes two photos right next to each other have had this happen. There doesn't seem to be any problem with the photos themselves, which are .jpgs. It's just so random.

Anybody have any ideas?
