The SDMB World Poker Tour has been going strong for more than two years. Join us in the epic battle for each other’s loose change and a tiny amount of fleeting glory.
Here is the post with links to all the past threads. The games go on Thursdays at 2200 EST on Poker Time or a compatible skin. Funding is still a problem due to the rude and grim government, but we get by.
We’d love to have more players - at its max, we had maybe 17 players; now we are down to about 7. Believe it or not, Rep. Barney Frank of Massachusetts may be our hero. He has introduced legislation to overturn the part of the “Port Safety” bill that made it all but impossible for US players to get money on poker sites.
First thing: got a friend in another state who would allow you to sign up using their address? I used an old Texas address of mine to sign up on Crazy Poker. And any PrimaPoker site works for our little game, although many of the skins have restrictions on about 11 US states.
2nd: if you can sign up, but can’t transfer money, start playing the freerolls. Yeah, they suck, but you may eventually finish in the money. And since we are now playing for $0.09 + 0.01, any money you can get there puts you in the game.
I played with you guys for a while a year or so ago. Is anyone going to be in Vegas for the WSOP Main Event? I am going to be there on unrelated business, but plan to spend a night or two as a spectator. I arrive Wednesday and will be there through Sunday. PM me if you are interested in watching the later rounds. First one is on me!
Aww, crap, that probably won’t work either, unless you use a non-iffy address*. Try the sites shown here (all of which should carry the SDMB Weekly) and see if one works for you.
Good luck, and let us know.
*I have many fewer problems signing up with an old Texas address. Nudge, nudge, , .
For the record, the iffy states are:
Illinois
Indiana
Louisiana - felony to play online poker for real money in the US
Michigan
Nevada
New Jersey
New York
Oregon
South Dakota
Washington - felony to play online poker for real money in the US
Wisconsin
Otto, you did say on other threads that Full Tilt is still accepting and doing cash transactions for U.S. players under “games of skill” clause, correct?
The lowest I’m seeing is $1+ .50 but I’m not immediately seeing a way to set them up. I emailed support. I have this vague memory from when this league started about FTP and having to request private tourneys. Hope I’m misremembering…
