The other thread was getting a bit unwieldy and was a little confusing as it starts out with making a guild and doesn’t have an established one for a few pages.
First of all, if you just want to join up and post your character name this is the place to do it. This thread is for major character changes, announcements, and scheduling only (and I guess you can chatter here a bit as well it is an inn after all).
Basic info:
We are on the horde side of the PvE server Cairne, it is a new server and locked from character transfers off of other servers for another 5 or so months so this is a totally fresh start for everyone. It also gives newbies the chance to experience things such as the opening of the Gates of Ahn’Qiraj.
To join simply type in /join sdmb and say in the channel “hey everybody, this is <name> can I have an invite?” Everyone may invite, but it is only to be used to invite dopers. Once invited you may be promoted to Legionaire (everyone should be able to do this) and edit your public note. It’s customary, but not required to have your dope name (or “<main’s> alt” if you’re on an alternate character) as well as your primary professions in your public note. You may also whisper someone in the guild, but be prepared to prove you’re from here (i.e. saying “password: Cecil Adams” or “do you per chance have a 1920’s style death ray I could borrow?” is a good way to prove yourself).
Announcements as of 3/20/08 (subject to change later in the thread):
We’re short on rogues and mages, anyone who thinks they’d like these classes is encouraged to roll one. Don’t force yourself to though, it’s not urgent and we’d much rather you have fun than roll a class we “need” and have no fun.
As you can see in the current message of the day I’ve set the max gold you can withdraw from the guild bank per day to 1. This is the lowest I could set it, and it’s expected you only use it for nescesseties. Nescesseties as of now are defined as:

[li]Your armor is almost completely broken and you have no cash on hand to repair it.[/li][li]You made a really bad boo-boo with your talents and need to respec. This applies to your first 1g respec only, anything else will be evaluated on a case by case basis. The guild isn’t going to pay you to test new specs.[/li][li]You cannot afford a few of your abilities for that level.[/li][/ul]
There is a log of deposits and withdrawls, if you are abusing the bank we will know who you are. We’re not expecting you to repay the bank immediately, nor are we requiring you to at all (subject to change), but it would be nice for you to put more money in the bank occasionally to pay it off. It would also be nice for you to put some money in on occasion even if you’re not in debt of course. 
If anyone ever needs help with a quest or instance please let me know. At these lower levels I’m fine to tank, heal or DPS. I’ve also been playing since release, have four level 70s(Mage, Priest, Hunter, Warrior) and lots of alts, so if you have any questions about game play or just need a hand send me a tell!
I spent all of this morning re-installing. Fine. Then downloading patches…and more patches…and more patches all the while my internet connection kept dropping. And of course as soon as I finally got the darn thing they wave a free trial of the Burning Crusade in front of me so now I’m downloading that.
