"Chuck" has been renewed!

NBC have renewed Chuck, but they have stipulated it has to reduce its budget. So maybe there'll be more episodes set trapped inside the bunker.

Excellent about the renewal!

Shame about the budget and the short season.

Hot damn! I wasn't expecting any announcement until later this week. Good news indeed. I wonder if they can mitigate the reduced budget by even more blatant product placement. Chuck's the kind of show that seems tailor-made for that.

Woohoo! I've heard it's coming back on Fridays. It works for me since I have no life, but I'm wondering what that will do for ratings.

The latest updates say that Chuck will remain on Mondays in its current timeslot, premiering late in the season after the 2010 Olympics. There's also the possibility of having more than 13 episodes.

(No new Chuck until 2010? Good God!)

Alan Sepinwall, the television writer from the Newark Star-Ledger, suggested the same thing here, that a show featuring spies and partly set in a big-box electronics store is tailor-made for product placement.

On the other hand, perhaps they could save a big chunk of payroll by eliminating the Buy-More subplot. They could reduce the cast to just Chuck, Casey and Sarah (and perhaps the general) along with a varying group of guest stars.

Good to hear. We love "Chuck" - nothing spectacular, just a solidly entertaining show. Plus, the chemistry between, well, everyone on the show is nothing to scoff at.

I am very happy about the show returning. I know that "Chuck" will be worth the wait! (The very, very long wait... Aarrgghh!)

2010???!!! Noooo!

It was the break forced upon it by the writer's strike that kept the ratings down! Don't force another break onto it! Have they learned nothing?

Hopefully NBC will promote the show heavily during the Olympics to make up for its long absence.

I don't know: The other shows that NBC promoted during the Olympics have all been canceled.
