The recent Jell-O thread made me get nostalgic again for Jell-O 1-2-3. I've spent the past year trying to find some in vain. Is it still available anywhere? Does anyone know where I could get some?

To the best of my knowledge, Jello 1-2-3 hasn't been sold for decades.
In the original product, the Jello settled into three layers of differing consistancy--i.e. a bottom layer of regular Jello, and above that two layers that were progressively lighter and more airy. My bother sometimes makes what might be called "Jello 1-2", i.e. it has top and bottom layers. He makes the airy layer by whipping Jello while cooling it on ice--a recipe that apparently goes back to the 1940's, if not older. |

Neat! Now someone tell me how to make the 3 part and I'm in business!

I always thought one of the layers was made by whipping Jello and whipped cream (OK, realistically probably Cool Whip) together. Don't know if that was before/during/after the Jello cooled though.
