So what was the deal with the pixelated bike shorts last night? Was that supposed to be part of the gag, or something the ABC censors added later on because Cameron's nether regions were too well defined?

The same thing happened to Ned Flanders in a Simpsons episode.

At first I thought the implication was that the little horsie was peeking out through the barn door, but I think the gag was that there was suggestive lumpiness.

I'm a big fan of the show, but I thought last night's was fairly weak. The Jay/Gloria/Manny subplot felt tacked on. However, the end with Alex and her last line pulled at my heartstrings- I think I pictured and heard my daughter in that situation (a couple years away, maybe), and it got me.

Oh- the kiss! It actually happened!

They already kissed--in the episode about The Kiss.

I thought in that episode Jay kissed Mitchell and Manny, and Cam kissed Mitchell's hand, or something. I don't remember Cam & Mitchell kissing on the lips and thought last night's was the first. In the earlier episode, Mitchell's big thing was that he wouldn't kiss Cam because he had inherited Jay's distaste for showing affection.

If it happened, I missed it.

After everyone celebrated Jay kissing Mitchell, you could see in the background Mitchell & Cam giving each other a kiss on the lips. I think the point was to not make a big deal out of it, letting the diversion of the father-son kiss take the spotlight, with them having a more casual, intimate moment as almost a throwaway to the audience.

Definitely a gag. I assumed it was meant to imply the male version of Camel toe.

I was a little annoyed that Mitchell again refered to Cam as his "boyfriend". The've been together several years, own a home, and have a daughter. "Partner" (or even husband*) would be more appropriate.

*Even if they aren't legally married in their state alot of same-sex couples use "husband" or "wife" to describe their partner.

Huh. I guess my eyes were on Gloria, or something. I have a habit of doing that.

You're beating your head against a wall. In American English, boyfriend/girlfriend are the only widely accepted/used/understood words for a non-marital permanent, romantic, coupling relationship. And there's really nothing wrong with it. Words commonly have multiple meanings.

I don't like "partner" for this purpose, because to me it implies a business, professional, or other non-romantic relationship, and, so far, the majority of American English speakers have not picked up this term.

I wonder if the producers came up with the pixelation gag while writing the episode, or thought it up only after Eric Stonestreet put on the bike shorts and seeing how well endowed he was.

My Mig and I have a child and have lived together seven years but I still call him my boyfriend.
That's what he is.

Moose knuckle.

My husband bought a Superman costume for Halloween a few years ago, and when he put it on, he realized that he was going to have to wear a cup with it to not frighten small children.

Do you like watching her stir?

I have to say, though, speaking as a heterosexual female, she is extremely hot.

I also have to say, cudos to the show for actually having a female apologize for being an emasculating bitch, and admitting that she was wrong.

I seem to remember reading that the same thing happened to Christopher Reeve when he first tried on his Superman costume.

A man who doesn't fill out his Superman costume could hardly be considered super. I think Confucius said that.

I am also a hetero woman who is intensely attracted to Gloria. It's not just her amazing body; it's her fiery, but lovingly maternal, demeanor, I think. She's my favorite character. Frankly, at the beginning of the show, I didn't expect the solid characterization and comic timing from that actress. She just looked like your basic soap actress, but she's not.

Phil has grown on me. I didn't like him much in the beginning. He pretty much won me over in the Spandau Ballet episode.

Should I know what a "Mig" is?

I guess I am in the extreme minority, but I think that Julie Bowen is a much more attractive woman than Sofia Vergara is---The odd thing about it is that usually 95% of the time I am MUCH more drawn to women with dark hair and features similar to Sofia's, and by and large, blonde women don't typically hold much appeal.

There is just something specific to those two actresses, but Julie Bowen is a stone-cold stunner for sure, while Sofia Vergara is not anything to write home about IMHO.

Sofia Vergara's character's voice drills through my head and makes her hard to watch sometimes. The Julie Bowen character is not always likeable but did you catch that episode where she walks in front of the webcam in an open bathrobe? That was a great scene and very important to the plot.
