Women, do you wear underwear/panties underneath your pajama pants?

If you ever wear pajama pants or some type of pajama, do you ever have panties on underneath it? I remember growing up I never did and my friends asked if I did one time and when I said no they thought it was really strange. Now I do though. Usually. Also do any of you sleep with your bra on? I had a friend who always slept with her bra on. I cant imagine how uncomfortable that would be to wear every night.

If I can speak for my wife, she wears panties but no bra. And thick pajamas and socks (she gets cold).

My girlfriend sleeps in whatever she was wearing that day (so shirt and jeans usually), which includes all underwear.

If I do wear pj pants, I only have underwear on if I have my period.

Never wear a bra to bed except for a very few exceptions - mostly if I'm backcountry hiking/camping and sleeping in a tent or backpacking through some country. Then I might leave a sports bra on.

My girlfriend wears underwear under her pajama pants, should she choose to wear anything at all to bed.

EDIT: Also, no bra to bed.

No bra or panties to bed, ever. If anything, a shirt of my husband's on cold nights.

I can't imagine wearing panties to bed. Doesn't seem comfortable at all. Plus, doesn't that mean you're wearing the same pair for nearly 24 hours? Or do you slip on a fresh pair before bed?

Never. Usually on my period it's just a tampon and no undies. It's important to air things out down there. Plus, I wash each pair of pj pants after wearing so it's not like I'm constantly exposing my nether regions to the same yuckiness or anything.

I sleep naked, so when I wear PJ's its just for slouching around the house. And I do wear underwear then, because, well, the vagina is a self-cleaning organ but any clothing directly exposed to its cleaning mechanism should be washed after one wearing, and I don't really feel like doing that, nor do I own enough PJ pants to make it practical.

If I wear pjs I never wear underwear. My ma taught me to do it like that when I was a child, citing that "those parts need to get air". I usually take off my pjs to sleep though, unless it's very cold.

I shower at night so I don't put on panties when I go to bed. If I'm not sleeping naked, I have on pj pants.

If I don't shower before bed, I leave my panties on.

When I get up my "work uniform" is pajamas (work from home) and I put on underwear, for the reason Hello Again stated. I don't want to be wearing these pj pants tomorrow if they basically served as underwear all day today.

Only wear a bra when in the company of others. Never to bed.

What ZipperJJ and Hello Again said. Pajamas take on a whole different meaning when you work from home.

In other words, I have 1 pair of jeans, and 5 pairs of pajama pants. And that fits my clothing needs just fine.

I take my shower when I get up. I put on a clean pair of panties. If I go out, I put on more clothes. When I go to bed, I might sleep in just the panties, or I might put on a nightie or some PJs. But I do wear the panties until the next day's shower. What, am I supposed to change them halfway through the day or something?

I used to wear panties under my pjs when I was a little girl. Then I read some article that said you could get a yeast infection or something if you did that (have no idea if that's true), so I started going commando.

I generally sleep in a tshirt and panties, no bra. If it's cold enough to warrant pajama bottoms, I leave the undies on. I think of chafing. I have never been comfortable going commando on the few occasions I've done it.

I sleep naked.

As soon as I get home I shuck my jeans in favor of shorts or sweats, I don't wear panties with that stuff.

I actually checked to see if I was wearing any underroos before posting. Underwear are like Almond Joy - sometimes you feel like it and sometimes you don't.

Full underwear. I never go commando anyway. I do panty liners for freshness. I wear my old crappy bras to bed. The girls are big and heavy and I don't like the floppiness.

My wife wears undies and pj's. So do I.

Skidmarks on your pj's are just nasty. Gotta wear something to keep the pj's clean.

Though my girls are just 34B, I wear a bra because gravity doesn't care whether or not you're asleep; I'm overly protective of my non-floppiness.

Momma had a rule: Always wear your panties. The only exception was with your bathing suit. We even wore our panties under our dance leotards.

I guess that stuck with me - I feel very uncomfortable without panties on. The only time you will catch me without them is when I'm wearing swim clothes.

I also sleep in a soft bra. It's not uncomfortable in the least - it's not got any wires or anything.

So yes, I do wear panties and a soft bra with my nightie or pajamas. I also wear sox in the wintertime. If I am somewhere that is really friggin' cold, I will also wear a knit cap.

Panties yes, bra no. When I was eleven or so I remember being given my first training bra and wondering what women did at night. Mom's answer was that you can wear it to bed, but it's probably more comfortable if you don't. I still think that's a pretty good answer.

Ew. How do you people get skidmarks? Like, don't you wipe? I have never in my life had skid marks (except maybe when I was a little kid).

Skidmarks don't happen too often, but sometimes cheap TP doesn't completely do the job. Especially after a greasy Mexican dinner.

Romance suffered a little when I learned girls get them too. They are kind of gross.

Never a bra while sleeping. There's nothing that needs supporting or containing. Underwear, I wear most of the time - I usually sleep in a shirt, and underwear. I have a lot of vaginal discharge some days. Mmm, cervical mucus. Underwear can be changed daily, but I like to wear pants and pj pants multiple times.

I am meticulous about cleaning my ass, so no skidmarks ever.

I sleep naked 99% of the time. I don't even own jammies. If there is an occasion where I need to wear somthing to sleep in, it will be a big t-shirt and panties.

Just the thought of "skidmarks" makes me nauseated. I can guarantee you that neither my hubby or me ever leaves any poo in our underwear.

I don't think I've ever seen it in my girls (ages 7 and 10) underwear either.

Keep wiping until you are clean. If necessay use Cotonelle wipes, or even baby wipes.

I don't really understand 1) why people think wearing the same pair of underwear for 24 hours is somehow weird, and 2) what kind of underwear you're wearing where you need to "air yourself out" every so often.

Wearing underwear for that long feels kind of grody to me. I don't think it's like anything bad will happen if you don't air yourself out and it's not about a specific underwear type. I think I just feel fresher when I haven't been encased in the same pair of undies for so long. Plus I shower twice a day so taking a shower and putting on a pair of underwear I've just had on would feel pretty nasty.

Sometimes yes, sometimes no.

If I'm dressing from my clothes into my jammies, I tend to leave the underwear I was wearing on.

If I take a bath and then crawl into my jammies, I don't bother to either get a new pair of underwear or use the old one.

I wear panties under pj pants or nightgowns. No bra, but, like Skammer's wife, I suffer from terminally cold feet, so most of the time, I go to bed in socks.

If my pajamas are thick enough I don't wear panties, but if they are light I do actually put on a fresh pair. And if I'm on my period I always wear them and change them often to be comfortable. Skid marks are gross but they are understandable, I mean I wipe thoroughly but sometimes especially on my period, you can get a really bad itch around the hole and in order to not touch it you gotta use the pantie to do it...

What are the supposed consequences of not getting things "aired out" down there? If nothing, doesn't that prove that it's not important?

Panties, but no bra. I've read that it's not a good idea to sleep in a bra (something about it being bad for your breathing or something?), and it's just not as comfortable.

Yeast infections.

However, I don't think it actually makes a difference unless you are already prone to yeast infections, or the underwear you wear are not cotton (which I think these days is rare). If you have been wearing underwear to sleep forever and never had a problem, you're probably fine. If you get a bunch of yeast infections, try taking them off.

So, basically, it is neither wholly true nor wholly untrue that sleeping without underwear is "healthier" for the vaginal area.

Panties, no bra. I always wear a big t-shirt and pj pants to bed. I shower at night, so I put on a clean pair of underwear after that, and change them again in the morning.

Until I saw this thread, the idea of wearing pajamas with no underwear had never occurred to me. Sleeping naked, yes, but not commando. Weird.

Ah, that makes sense, especially considering nylon underwear used to be a hell of a lot more popular a few decades ago than it is now, which would have been the case when people's parents were telling them that as kids.

I've never had a problem with yeast infections, but I've never worn underwear overnight that wasn't at least 80% cotton, either.
