Women, talk to me about your bra habits please

In this thread, a couple people mentioned how women wearing bras while having sex pulled them out of the movie. This surprised me, as I usually keep my bra on while having sex.

Along those lines: my friend told me that she remembered I wore bras to bed, and thought that was weird. I would say I only wear a bra to bed about half the time, and when I do I like to wear a sports bra. But still, it surprised me that she would consider it so weird to wear a bra to bed.

Also along those lines: I’ve read before that some women like to come home and take off their bra, the way they might take off high heels or pantyhose. Really??

So I guess I generally want to know your experience with bras, and when you leave them on and take them off.

I don’t like wearing clothing of any kind so when I have to wear a bra it comes off the second I walk in the door.

As for sex, I’m a fan of naked there as well.

I don’t ever get fully naked just to hang around. I like clothes. But you bet your ass the first thing that comes off when I get home is the bra. Why would you ever, ever wear it to bed? And I don’t wear mine on the weekends, either. It comes on when I go out.

Also, wearing bras during sex? My SO would be very very sad. Hell, I would. Breasts are part of foreplay.

Interestingly, I’m about the polar opposite of you. I really don’t like clothes that much, and on the weekends I’ll often avoid getting dressed until I have to leave the house. But I’ll wear my bra, even when I’m idly lounging.

I think some of who does/doesn’t wear a bra at home might have to do with bust size. I wore one more often when I had E cups than I do now with B cups (yay for reduction!!).

OP, forgive me but do you keep your bra on because you’re particularly large up top? Because other than possible discomfort due to not being supported I think it’s hard for us to imagine why one would prefer to wear a bra to bed (whether it’s for sleeping or other nocturnal activities).

If I’m going to be home doing nothing(or nothing strenuous anyway0, no brassiere shall touch my body. But usually I’m doing something physical so a sports bra it is. My proper bras are worn only to work or for going out. And no, I would never wear a black bra under a light colored shirt. I also make an effort to not let my bra straps show.

No bra under nightclothes. No bra during sex.

Bra when outside the house, because I’m not 20 years old anymore.

The only time I’ve heard of anyone wearing a bra to bed is when their bust need some kind of 24/7 support. The most often scenario is switching from a regular to a sports bra. I’ve never worn a bra to bed, btw.

I wear sports bras at work. When I get home I switch to a regular one simply because most of my non-work clothes aren’t sports-bra friendly. It comes off when I’m getting ready for bed.

And god, you don’t wear a bra when having sex. Socks, maybe. But not a bra.

Yes. I thought about asking people to tell me what their cup size was, but then decided against it because – I don’t know, it just seemed a bit graphic. But yes, I am particularly large up top.

Regarding wearing a bra to bed, I actually prefer to not wear a bra. The reason I sometimes do is mainly because if I get up to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night, it doesn’t feel good to walk around without a bra on.

Yep, first thing I do after coming home is take it all off. And the bra won’t go back on until I have to go back outside.

Though there is something to be said for a good fondling before taking the bra off, if you’re using one without padding or lining.

If I take my bra off, I’m not leaving the house for the rest of the day.

I don’t wear a bra to bed.

Being large busted, I’ve struggled in the past to have enough working bras without breaking the bank. I’m in a nice position now where I can put a new bra on every day and do a wash once a week. I tend to wear yesterday’s bra for my morning walk, then put a new bra on for the day after a shower.

I am also large up top. Sometimes at home I will put on a sports bra, but I don’t just ever wear a regular bra to hang out.

I wear a bra all day, then go to the gym and wear a sports bra, and then go home and fling that off, too.

No bras to bed, ever. Sometimes as particularly sexy bra might be worn at the beginning of fun time so that Mr can remove it, but the girls are always free by the second inning.

Although I did have one friend who bought soft non-spandexy type of sports bras and called them sleeping bras and wore them as pjs. She got into the habit when her kids were young and likely to be running into Mom and Dads room through the night, and just decided she felt comfortable that way. The rest of us thought her odd.

I don’t always shed my bra immediately on getting home after work, say if we have company or I know I’m going to be going out, but once I’m in for the night it’s gone.

I read a lot of online reviews for bras where the reviewers mention how comfy the bras are in bed, or when worn 24/7. But I am only looking at plus-sized sites like Lane Bryant and Just My Size so I feel like it’s definitely a size thing.

As for me I do not wear one in bed - alone or with a friend. I can see wanting to wear one though because often they make one’s boobs look amazing. And they give you an assist against gravity

I work from home so I go braless under my pajamas all day. After that I get dressed and go out, with a bra on. I prefer wireless (not sports bras) but I’ve recently bought some new wired pairs. I can only wear wired for so long until I am in pain.

I have a very sensitive spot right under my sternum that causes me great gastro pain if pressed on for too long. Often bras will aggravate this spot if it’s already aggravated from inside. When that happens, whipping my bra off is a gofsend! Otherwise, I don’t really notice it.

I’m large up top, but the only times I’ve ever worn a bra to bed is when I was nursing.

Member of the IBTC here. I wear a bra when I’m out in public, but around the house or just walking the dog? Nah.

I have six “good” bras and three ratty old ones. I wear the old ones inside out because the outside of the cups feels nicer than the inside. They all get washed in a lingerie bag in the machine and then hung up to dry. What with the light duty and the extra care, the dern things last forever.

My wife is in the “takes bra off practically as soon as she’s in the door” group.

And it’s hard for me to imagine that there are many couples where both (a) the woman prefers leaving her bra on during sex, and (b) the guy doesn’t mind.

Another that’s got more boobage going on, and I too unleash those puppies the second I’m behind closed doors. I always wear underwires (because I hate them looking like a frigging shelf and I’m too cheap to buy the sports bras that don’t do that) and those things grate after a really short time. And similar to most others, I’ve never wore one to sleep (I don’t think I’d get a wink) or to have sex. After the opening salvos are launched, there’s no longer a need.

I hate undergarments. I don’t wear underwear, and I wear a bra only when necessary. Luckily, my breasts are still quite perky, so it’s okay most of the time. If there comes a day when they start to droop, I will wear a bra more often.

My theory is that guys like to have sex because they get to see a naked woman while doing so. So, leaving the bra on is definitely a turn-off. (Turning the light off a bit less so, because, hey, you can feel.)
