Miscellaneous and Personal Stuff I Must Share

As most of you know by now, I am moving from the bitter cold of Minnesota to the warmth of Texas. Since I don’t have a job lined up in Texas, and I am (most likely) moving back in with the 'rents to save money for school, and since I was planning to go to DC in the spring anyway, I decided to take the scenic route and drive to Texas via Washington, DC.

I have a route planned out. I will be in the following cities:

[li]Madison, WI (March 25)[/li][li]Chicago, IL (March 25)[/li][li]Cleveland, OH (March 26)[/li][li]Pittsburgh, PA (March 26/27)[/li][li]Washington, DC (March 27/28)[/li][/ul]

And, of course, points along the way.

The dates above are target dates.

Coming back from DC, my route will include the following:

[li]Knoxville, TN[/li][li]Nashville, TN[/li][li]Memphis, TN[/li][li]Little Rock, AR[/li][li]Dallas, TX[/li][li]Austin/San Antonio, TX[/li][/ul]

Dates TBD. (I may spend a day or two in Dallas, as my brother lives there and we’re planning a visit.)

Of course, the above may change if I can juggle a few things and go to Spiffled. :smiley: Such is the appeal of this trip. I can take my time and see what I want for as long as my wallet can hold out. :slight_smile:

I’m planning to keep posting to this thread as things develop. I’m also planning to update my website with a pithy, witty journal of my travels that will someday be published and sold for $12.95. (just kidding, although you never know. Look at Steinbeck and Kerouac and Kuralt!)

I am doing Tidewater. Part of the reason for my visit was to attend to some personal business in Norfolk. If anyone is interested, I’d love to have lunch with y’all.

Minot is the out-of-town dry run show. You can say you knew me way back when. :slight_smile:

Working out a better tentative schedule, I’ll be in Norfolk March 28. I need to visit Portsmouth Naval Hospital and fill out paperwork, but that’s about it. (Damn those pesky hospital regs!)

msrobyn - if you’re having lunch with Scott on the 28th, I guess that means you’ll be in DC on the evening of the 27th. I’m definitely interested in meeting you then.

Believe it or not, I will actually be in or around DC on the 27th. The Glee Club is doing a road trip to DC and Baltimore that weekend. I don’t know if I’ll actually be free that evening because there might be obligatory social stuff with alums, but if I can, I’ll join ya.
