Rick and the others find themselves pitted against a group of nasty people, but may have a plan to gain the upper hand.

Mary Lynn Rajskub, Slash, & a surprise cast member are on Talking Dead tonight.

Once again, LPITA gives away their position :smack:

More trouble than she’s worth…

Oh please, please let Bob have them when he turns!

ETA: Meh, at least I called Michonne getting her sword back in the last thread!

Call the Guinness Book, Rick finally did something right for a change!

Gareth was too much of a risk to let live

Ahh shut up Gabriel, nobody cares about your stupid religious crap

I really wish we would’ve been shown if there was any repercussions to eating infected Bob.

Me too. Other than that I’ve been really impressed with the writing so far and how fast the plot seems to be moving.

Great episode. The tension when Gareth’s crew came out of the woods was awesome. It was satisfying to have Rick come back and get vengeance. Good pacing is rare for this show, and this season has been as good as the first episodes of season one. Keep it up - this could be the best season so far.

Minor complaint - thumbs down on Michonne at the end. Why would she hear some noise and go into the edge of the woods in the dark to investigate? Please stop having these characters be so fucking stupid.

I was saying something to my husband about whether Rick made the right choice with the cannibals, and then it occurred to me that there was no right choice for him - let them live to keep being a hazard to live humans, or kill them and be a guy who kills other humans. I think Rick was shown to be right in his original instinct to just kill them right then and there, before they left Terminus. Anyway, that’s over now (theoretically).

So, flashback of what Beth has been doing since we last saw her, or is Beth currently being held hostage by some medical group in Atlanta (that was the city outside of her window, wasn’t it)?

And do we ever see Glenn and Maggie again? I don’t quite get how they could leave Rick’s group, but I guess they’ve been setting Glenn up as not being thrilled by Rick’s decisions for a couple of episodes now.

I would have absolutely no hesitation or guilt or emotion even about putting down someone who has tried to kill me and my family and friends multiple times, and even hunted me down to exact revenge. They dead, self defense.

BUT I still hate Rick for letting that innocent back packer guy die, adding a single healthy young adult to your community is only to your benefit. Not cool Rick.

So in the sense that killing a vicious monster that murdered and ate countless children, in self defense, is the LEAST of Rick’s sins.

Not a bad episode. Certainly better than last week’s dulling bit of nothingness. I’m shocked that the writers wrapped up the Gareth sub plot so quickly, though I’m already cringing at how much padding this will inevitably leave down the line.

It’s definitely good to see Michonne reunited with her Excalibur though.

I assume that the separation will be relatively short lived. Glenn and Maggie are too central to have them gone too long (although they did have Carol take an extended hiatus).

I was happy that the group split up. They were too big to have the story continue to be mobile while also having enough for all the actors to do. Also, it would be harder for them to realistically be in peril with so many ass-kicking characters together in the group.

Yeah, good bit, but … what was the point?
At least have them say something about accelerating their plans for Rick’s group because they were afraid of the “tainted meat” outcome.

who is in the woods with Daryl… Dont say Carol please, why would she hang back. Beth and then we see her whole arc in a flashback? New character? I want to see a small pond with everyone jumping in and washing the food bank slime out of their clothes and maybe a bar of soap.

One thing that bothers me …small thing but what season is it and what is the temperature? One is in a winter coat, one is in a tee shirt, judith in a heavy sweater? When we flashed on Morgan he looked ready for a blizzard.

Overall a really good episode. My biggest complaint was Abraham’s sudden insistence that they must leave immediately and the “deal” that involves splitting up the group. The entire thing felt incredibly contrived to set-up what was the resolution later in the episode and the storyline for the rest of the season. Abraham suddenly demanding that they leave at that very moment seemed very artifiical. Then to respond to that situation with offering to split your group up?!? What-what??

Additionally, neither Abraham nor Eugene seem to be “real people”. There continues to be a distinct comic book quality to both of them that hasn’t gone away. It’s like the actors are trying to portray the comic book characters, not flesh out real-life people. I felt this way about Michonne at first too but I think we can all agree the writers and actresses have managed to humanize her now. So far, Abraham and Eugene are… caricatures.

On the positive side, the actor who plays Bob was really good in this episode. His on the edge of madness “TAINTED MEAT” scene was excellent. As was his final scenes, if drawn out a little too long. I liked that in his situation they also had the small mention of Jim from season one - good to see that continuity there and that the writers showed us the group still remembers Jim.

I also liked the plan and the execution of the plan. That entire scene was so well paced and the tension was turned up to 11. The savagery of the resolution was a bit stunning coming from “the good guys”. Although I agree with the decision, you could almost see/feel in the moments immediately afterwards that they were stunned a bit at what they’d done.

Finally, what a weird-weird ending to the episode. It was so sudden that for a moment I thought my DVR cut-off the last few seconds or something.

Gotta say - each episode so far has been very good and moving the story line forward. Much faster paced than previous seasons and I’m liking that. Highlights for me:

-Gareth pleading with Rick, saying you could have killed us already but you didn’t. Rick’s response : We didn’t wanna waste the bullets. BAD ASS RICK GRIMES!!

-The scenes with Bob were great. His psychotic laughter by the campfire was so creepy and well done.

-When the camera panned around to show the red handled machete, you knew what was coming next. Great scene.

-Michonne and the katana are reunited. Loved it.

-Who’s with Daryl? Can’t be Carrol, she’d just come out with him. No need for a “presentation.” I don’t think it’s Beth either for the same reason. And he was on foot, so where’s the car they jumped in to chase the white cross car?

The only one i can think of that could be with Daryl that wouldn’t want to come out would be Morgan.

Probably not unless it’s a prion disease (unlikely).

You would think the Terminus bunch would have realized by now that everyone turns when they die. “Hey, that guy died of a gunshot wound and came back…wait…crap…”

Pretty sure you nailed it here.

I would like to amend this to Beth.

The preview of next week and all the scenes of “trapped Beth” are likely flashbacks meant to throw us off. Daryl would have good reason to instruct Beth to hide as she is young and less physically able. He probably told her to run if the person they encounter is not friendly. That’s my guess.

Morgan makes no sense in that role nor does Carol. Both are arguably more “field tested” and it’s likely that Daryl would insist that Beth remain hidden.

Also adding that Morgan’s travels are a ‘flash back’ so there’s no way it’s him in the woods with Daryl. AMC’s website confirmed in the episode summary that Morgan is months behind, following the marks on the trees made by the Terminus hunters. Gareth mentioned last night to Bob that they were marking their path so they could return to Terminus. Not sure why since it’s destroyed but he did say that.

EDIT : I’m not sure how I should word this. Flash forward or flash back. It’s months later when Morgan finds Rick’s “No Sanctuary” sign.
